  • Patent number: 7246412
Abstract: A hanger hinge is used to suspend panels of a folding door or window from an overhead track. The hanger hinge has a hanger bolt with an externally threaded lower end on which a nut is threaded by a tool. The nut is located within a sleeve which engages the bolt to prevent relative rotation between the sleeve and the bolt. At least one hinge leaf is pivotally mounted on the hanger bolt and supported on the sleeve. Each hinge leaf is adapted to be fixed to a respective panel, and the position of the panel(s) is dependent on the extent to which the nut is threaded onto the hanger bolt. A key clip is used to lock the nut rotationally relative to the sleeve, so that the nut cannot rotate relative to the hanger bolt. The key clip is automatically disengaged when the tool is inserted in the nut, to permit the nut to turn relative to the bolt.

  • Patent number: 6834703
Abstract: A variable pivot mount 11 is used to adjustably mount a door or window panel to a jamb. The pivot mount has a hinge pin 12 defining the pivot axis of the panel, and an arm 19 extending transversely to the hinge pin 12. The arm 19 locates in a socket 27 mounted to the jamb, and is axially slidable therein to accommodate lateral displacement of the hinge axis, e.g. due to out-of-square movements of the panel. The arm 19 may be biased to a rest position. The pivot mount can also be used as a floating intermediate hinge mount 40 for a door or window panel 41.

  • Patent number: 6618900
Abstract: A carrier hinge assembly is used to suspend adjacent hinged panels from a track. The assembly has a carriage which travels along the track, and a hinge dependent from the carriage. The hinge is formed by a hinge pin having an upper portion threaded into a boss on the carriage, and hinge leaves which are pivotable about the hinge pin. The hinge leaves are fixed, in use, to opposing edge faces of the panels. The height of the panels may be adjusted by rotation of the hinge pin. A locking mechanism includes a retractable lock tongue located in an axial slot in a stop at the bottom of the hinge pin. The lock tongue is biased by spring to engage an axial slot in hinge leaf, to key the hinge pin to the hinge leaf and prevent relative rotation.
