    Abstract: An all-in-one treatment composition for a water cooling tower includes a water soluble aromatic azole corrosion inhibitor such as benzotriazole, an organophosphorous antiscalant and a polymeric quaternary ammonium compound. The polymeric quaternary ammonium compound has the following general formula: ##STR1## The composition is suitable for use at low level continuous applications rates. The polymeric quaternary ammonium compound is also suitable for use at low concentration as a continuous biocide/biostat. This compound does not suffer from the acclimatization typically encountered when one biocide is used on a continuous low level basis.

    Abstract: A detergent composition containing a stabilized active halogen source is disclosed. An active halogen source, such as a hypochlorite, in aqueous solution, is stabilized by combining it with known anhydrous or partially anhydrous builders, as well as fillers, defoamers, polyelectrolytes, and hydroxides to form a solid detergent composition. The aqueous solution of the active halogen source is first combined with at least one sulfonamide. The destaining activity of the halogen remains effective even after a prolonged storage period.

Thus, the invention cell self alarms when the electrodes have fouled. The electrodes each have two flow passageways, whereby the liquid takes a "U" shaped path, and whereby the outer electrode closest to the liquid inlet and outlet fittings sinks all stray currents and the like to thereby permit interference free operation.

    Abstract: To a coal-fired furnace that uses electrostatic precipitation or a mechanical collector to collect fly ash, a mix of magnesia-alumina or magnesia-talc is added above the fireball (2600.degree.-3300.degree. F.). The additive increases the mean particle size of the fly ash and reduces its surface resistivity, thereby causing improved collection in the electrostatic precipitators or mechanical collector. Fine particulates containing heavy metals tend to be agglomerated; thus the invention permits recovery of substantial amounts of heavy metal contaminants that would otherwise be lost as stack emission.
