Abstract: A safety alert system for a vehicle has a computerized monitoring apparatus storing a pre-programmed telephone number for a specific cellular telephone, a plurality of sensors coupled to the computerized monitoring apparatus, sensing at least on/off status of vehicle ignition system, presence or absence of a person in a driver's seat of the vehicle, and presence of a person or another animal in a location in the vehicle other than the driver's seat, and wireless transmission circuitry adapted to send an alert to a cellular telephone. The computerized monitoring apparatus senses that vehicle ignition is on, a person is in the driver's seat, and there is a person or another animal in a location in the vehicle other than the driver's seat, then senses that the ignition is switched off, then senses that there is no person in the driver's seat, and then sends an alert to the cellular telephone.

Abstract: An alert system for a vehicle has a computerized monitoring apparatus, a plurality of sensors sensing environmental conditions, status of apparatus of the vehicle, and presence or absence of a cellular telephone, and reports the conditions, status and presence or absence to the monitoring apparatus as variable values, and wireless transmission circuitry enabled to send an alert to the cellular telephone. The monitoring apparatus transmits an alert if the following sequence of events is determined: (1) at a first point in time the cellular telephone is in the vehicle and the ignition is on (2) at a 10 second point in time after the first point in time the ignition is switched off (3) at a third point in time after the second point in time the cellular telephone is no longer in the vehicle and it is determined there is a human or other animal in the vehicle.

Abstract: A safety alert system for a specific vehicle includes an Internet-connected server executing software, a digital data repository, a profile associated with the specific vehicle and identifying the specific vehicle and comprising contact information for a person, a computerized monitoring apparatus located in the specific vehicle with a two-way Internet connection to the Internet-connected server, global positioning system (GPS) circuitry coupled, a plurality of sensors, sensing both environmental conditions and status of apparatus of the specific vehicle, and reporting to the monitoring apparatus, and at least one set of variable values stored in the digital data repository indicating an alert status. The server keeps a log of reported variable values for the specific vehicle, periodically compares the variable values reported with the at least one set of variable values indicating an alert status, and issues an alert accordingly.
