    Abstract: The present invention provides a microchannel heat sink with plural microchannels, each having a respective inlet and outlet to permit flow, in particular two-phase flow, of a working fluid. The plural microchannels are arranged such that adjacent microchannels accommodate flow of working fluid in opposite directions and are thermally coupled to each other to enable heat exchange between the corresponding adjacent microchannels. In one aspect, a microchannel inlet is positioned at an angle (e.g., 90 degrees) with respect to its outlet. The plural microchannels define parallel longitudinal axes that are optionally arranged on the same plane and/or side-by-side in a single layer. Further, in one aspect, each microchannel cross-sectional area increases as the channel length progresses from an upstream end (e.g., adjacent to the inlet) to a downstream end (e.g., adjacent to the outlet) of the corresponding microchannel.

    Abstract: A thermochemical energy storage system. The system includes a membrane-based thermochemical reactor having a solution channel having an absorbent-containing solution flowing therethrough and a refrigerant channel having a refrigerant flowing therethrough along with first and second fluid channels. A porous membrane is positioned between the refrigerant channel and the solution channel; the porous membrane permits flow of vapor molecules therethrough while restricting flow of absorbent molecules. The system further includes a solution storage repository in fluid communication with the solution channel and a refrigerant repository in fluid communication with the refrigerant channel. The system can be used in high-density, high-efficiency, and low-temperature energy storage systems. The membrane-based reactor offers a large specific surface area and integrates solution/refrigerant flows, which enables formation of a highly compact reactor exhibiting strong heat/mass transfer.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a graph-based prostate diagnosis network (GPD-Net) and a method for using the same to predict a prostate health status of a patient from a 3D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan containing a plurality of 2D MRI slices. The GPD-Net only demands patient-level annotations of MRI scan for training by formulating the diagnosis task of 3D prostate MRI scan in a multi-instance learning (MIL) strategy, and regarding each 2D MRI slice in the 3D prostate MRI scan as an instance. The GPD-Net includes a plurality of importance-guided graph convolutional layers to explore the diagnostic information with the importance-based topology. The present invention provides accurate prediction of prostate diseases and achieve more reliable diagnosis from MRI scans, therefore can effectively alleviate the workload of clinician in viewing the slices of MRI scan.

    Abstract: The ultraviolet therapy apparatus includes a light source part having an LED light source, a controller that controls lighting of the LED light source, an input unit that inputs a set irradiation dose of a therapeutic light to be applied to a patient on the assumption that a reference light is used for the therapeutic light, a storage unit that stores at least one parameter for modifying the set irradiation dose.
