  • Patent number: 10203187
Abstract: An archery nock system includes a bushing and a nock assembly. A hollow interior of the bushing can define a first inner diameter region, a reduced inner diameter region, a sloped inner diameter region and an expanded inner diameter region. A diameter of the reduced inner diameter region is smaller than that of the first inner diameter region. The diameter of the reduced inner diameter region is smaller than that of the expanded inner diameter region. The first inner diameter region is located longitudinally between the reduced inner diameter region and the proximal end of the bushing. The expanded inner diameter region is located longitudinally between the reduced inner diameter region and the distal end of the bushing. The sloped inner diameter region spans longitudinally between the reduced inner diameter region and the expanded inner diameter region. An LED turn ON force can be greater than the turn OFF force.

  • Patent number: 10161728
Abstract: A lighted nock assembly may include an LED/battery assembly, a nock housing and a nock body. The LED/battery assembly can include an LED and a battery. The nock housing can include a cylindrical structure so that an outer surface is inserted into a rear end of an arrow, wherein a portion of the LED/battery assembly is disposed within the nock housing. The nock body can be linearly movable towards and away from the nock housing. A portion of the LED/battery assembly is secured within the nock body such that moving the nock body away from the nock housing along a straight line turns the LED from a lighted state to an unlighted state.

  • Patent number: 9897423
Abstract: An LED of a lighted nock sequentially advances through multiple different emitted colors by exposing the nock to a magnetic field. The nock is placed in the activated or lit state. Then a magnet is brought within range of a magnetic sensor included in the electronic circuit of the nock assembly. The change in the magnetic field causes the electronic circuit to advance the emitted LED light to the next color in a sequence of multiple colors. Repeated removal and re-application of the magnetic field while the LED remains lit advances the LED color repeatedly through the available colors until the user reaches their desired color. Then the LED is deactivated or turned off. Then when the LED is re-lit, it will still be in the last color chosen, and will remain there until the color is advanced again.

  • Patent number: 9733051
Abstract: A nock body may include a first end and an opposing second end. A nock housing may include a proximal end that engages the first end of the nock body and a distal end opposite the proximal end. A slot may be defined in the nock housing beginning at the distal end that extends in a direction of the proximal end. An LED/battery assembly may be disposed at least partially inside of the nock housing. A fastener may be secured to the nock housing in a location that causes a width of the slot to narrow and secure the LED/battery assembly. A groove may be defined in the nock body beginning at the first end that extends towards the second end. A nock activation lockout can be provided to block an LED activation gap from closing so that the LED does not unintentionally turn on.

  • Patent number: 9719544
Abstract: A glueless shaft joining system, apparatus and method are disclosed. A base insertable into the hollow interior of the shaft can include a plurality of flexible fingers separated by a slot defined between each of the adjacent flexible fingers. The interior of the base is hollow and includes a threaded portion adjacent to the distal end that extends inwards in a proximal direction. A set screw can be inserted into the threaded portion of the hollow interior of the base. The set screw includes a threaded head portion and a non-threaded tail portion that diverges as it extends away from the head portion. The tail portion deflects the flexible fingers laterally outwardly as the set screw is advanced in the proximal direction through the base. A component, such as a broad head or arrow nock can be coupled to the insert as desired.

  • Patent number: 9279649
Abstract: A lighted nock system includes a lighted nock assembly and a plurality of adaptors. The lighted nock assembly includes a shaft insertion portion having a shaft outer shape and shaft outer dimension. The first adaptor includes an internal opening having an internal size and internal shape configured to mate with the shaft insertion portion of the lighted nock assembly. The second adaptor includes the same internal opening size and shape as the first adaptor. The outer diameter of the second adaptor is different than the outer diameter of the first adaptor. A plurality of adaptors having different sized outer diameters, but the same internal configurations, can be provided in a single package with the lighted nock assembly. The lighted nock assembly can include a rotatable lockout collar to prevent unintended activation of the lighted nock assembly.

In one example embodiment, a plurality of blades extend outwardly from the body of an arrowhead and a sharpened tip extends forwardly. A front laser diode is disposed in the arrowhead and is arranged so that a laser beam emitted by the diode projects forward from the arrowhead through an aperture in the tip and is coaxial with the tip's center axis. In another example embodiment, the housing includes a rear facing light source to selectively light the nock. The method includes indexing the arrowhead to the vanes by tightening a set screw disposed in a portion of the arrowhead disposed in the arrow shaft.

  • Publication number: 20130170900
Abstract: A glueless shaft joining system, apparatus and method are disclosed. An expandable insert, half-out insert or outsert is disposable at least partially into the inside of the shaft of an arrow or other tubular member such as a golf club shaft. A set screw can be tightened to expand finger elements to lock the insert and arrowhead attached thereto in place. Alternatively, a screw can lengthwise contract base and wedge elements along contacting portions of respective ramp portions, thereby expanding the effective outside diameter of the device inside of the shaft to lock it into place. In either case, a component, such as a broad head, can be aligned, removed or indexed as desired.

  • Patent number: 8286871
Abstract: An archery sighting system and method for placing a reticule on a display. The system includes a housing mounted in fixed relation to a bow. The housing includes a rangefinder to generate a target distance signal indicative of a target distance between the bow and a target. A display is configured to depict a reticule. A chronograph generates a bow speed indicating a bow speed at which an arrow leaves the bow. A processor receives a bow speed signal from the chronograph, a range signal from the rangefinder. In response to the signals, the processor generates a reticule pattern on the display, the reticule is positioned to indicate an attitude of the bow necessary for an arrow released from the bow at the bow speed to strike a target at the target distance.
