Patents Assigned to Co-Steel International Limited
  • Patent number: 4454909
Abstract: A means for electromagnetic stirring of steel in a continuous casting operation comprises at least two multi-turn conducting loons. Each turn has a group of winding segments running longitudinally along a mould side, such connected in series to another group of segments running longitudinally along the opposite mould side. Such an arrangement provides a rotating field which produces flux across the mould, transverse to the casting direction.

  • Patent number: 4222258
Abstract: A mill stand for steel rolling has a mill housing which allows installation and removal of a roll assembly in a direction transverse to the intended direction of steel through the mill stand. The housing is provided with means for locating and clamping the roll assembly in place and for releasing said clamping to allow removal of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4193283
Abstract: In the high speed production of elongated metal bars, a method of slitting a double or triple stranded bar interconnected at a continuous node or nodes, in which the bar is rolled to reduce the cross-section of each strand equally, the compressive working force being applied to create lateral tensile forces whereby the strands diverge and separate. In a triple stranded bar the two outer strands are worked in the same manner to separate them from the central strand.

  • Patent number: 3982455
Abstract: A device for slitting billets rolled to produce a multiple stranded bar, in which a guide member and support rollers direct the multiple stranded bar, emerging from a stand, against a rotary knife having a circular blade bevelled peripherally to provide shoulders over which individual strands will ride, thus splitting the bar in advance of the knife. Passages behind the knife channel the individual strands.
