Abstract: The invention pertains to a new method for formulating pharmaceutical active ingredients in such a way as to protect them when ingested orally, and to allow for the controlling of the release of the active ingredient in the intestine. It relies upon the use of thickening acrylic emulsions with a pH greater than 5, containing hydrophobic groups, in order to encapsulate the pharmaceutical active ingredients for the purpose of encouraging their passage through the gastrointestinal barrier, while controlling the release kinetics of said active ingredients.
Abstract: The present invention concerns new associative thickening agents belonging to the category of HEURs (Hydrophobically modified Ethylene oxide URethane). These products contain an original associative monomer with a base of alkyl cyclohexanol alkoxylates. Their thickening power is equal to or greater than that procured by HEUR associative thickening agents of the prior art containing grafted alkyl phenols. An efficient substitute product is therefore available, which is free of alkyl phenols, matching current market demand.
Abstract: The present invention concerns weakly anionic polymers including their use in paper coatings, especially those intended for paper for inkjet printing. These additives provide the sought thickening function, whilst improving water retention very appreciably. The invention also concerns a method of manufacture of such coatings, together with the coatings obtained in this manner.
Abstract: New associative thickening agents belonging to the category of HASEs (Hydrophobically modified Alkali-Soluble Emulsions). These products contain an original associative monomer with a base of alkylcyclohexanol akoxylates. Their thickening power is greater than the HASE associative thickening agents of the prior art containing grafted alkyl phenols. An efficient substitute product is therefore available, which is free of alkyls phenols, matching current market demand.

Abstract: Emulsions containing acrylic associative thickening agents which, when polymerized in the presence of particular polyglycerols, have a thickening power which is remarkably stable over time.
Abstract: The present invention relates to new acrylic associative thickening agents which, when polymerized in the presence of particular polyglycerols, ultimately result in an increase of the open time of the paint or of the thick coating in which they are in incorporated. By so doing, painters and applicators will have more time to work the paint layers gradually or to correct imperfections such as paint droplets, and traces of brushes and filling-knives.
Abstract: A method of manufacture of an aqueous suspension of talc, using a copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid with an oxyalkylated monomer with a surfactant group, an aqueous suspension of talc which may be obtained by such a method, and the use of these suspensions in various applications.
Abstract: The invention consists of the use, during a mineral substance dry-grinding step, of formulations containing glycerol and/or polyglycerols as agents for improving the auto-dispersing characteristic of the said mineral substance in an aqueous composition. The immediate viscosity of the final composition is thus lowered and maintained stable over the course of time. In addition, the amount of foam formed during the dispersion in water step is reduced.
Abstract: The invention pertains to a new method for formulating any agrochemical active ingredient so as to protect the user, protect this active ingredient from outside stresses, and control its release kinetics. It relies on the use of acrylic and thickening emulsions with a pH greater than five and containing hydrophobic groups in order to trap said active ingredient. The invention also pertains to the various embodiments of the active ingredient thereby formulated: a mixture in water of that active ingredient with these thickening emotions, a dispersion of solid particles of these polymers and this active ingredient after a certification, and the solid particles obtained in a dried state after the water has been removed. Finally, the invention pertains to the use of these various formulations in order to protect and active ingredient, protect its user, and slow its release kinetics.
Abstract: New associative thickeners of the HEUR type (Hydrophobically modified Ethylene oxide URethane) whose hydrophobic monomer is based on alkyl cyclohexylols. These are new polyurethanes that allow a broad thickening of a medium shear gradient aqueous formulation while limiting the increase in the low shear gradient viscosity. The invention also concerns the compositions containing them and their uses in different formulations such as aqueous paints.
Abstract: The invention consists of the use, in an alkide resin formulation in an aqueous phase, of a dispersing agent/thickener pair: the dispersing agent is a copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid with an oxyalkylated monomer possessing a polymerizable function and terminated by hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, the thickener is an associative thickener containing at least one hydrophobic group which is a polystyrylphanyl, preferentially chosen from among distyrylphenyl, tristyrylphenyl, and mixtures thereof, and which is very preferentially tristyrylphenyl. This combination makes it possible to improve the brightness level retention of the paint film over time, while ensuring that the aqueous formulation has the desired rheology.
Abstract: Cosmetic compositions for make-up containing acrylic comb copolymers having the advantage of increasing the intensity of the color produced by these compositions when they are applied to the skin or to keratin derivatives such as the hair or the eyelashes. Not only are the aesthetic properties conferred by these compositions thus improved, but their useful life is also increased, since they allow access to the desired shade (and good intensity) right from the first application.
Abstract: The invention relates to novel sulphur compounds, to the production thereof by a method carried out in an aqueous medium and the use thereof in the form of transfer agents in a method for controlled radical polymerisation of acrylic acid and/or acrylic acid with water-soluble monomers in water. The thus obtained polymers are usable in the form of dispersing agents or grinding aid agents and/or aid agents for combined grinding of mineral materials in an aqueous suspension and in the form of dispersing agents directly incorporated into aqueous formulations containing mineral materials.
Abstract: The invention consists in the use, in a process of manufacture of GCC and PCC co-ground in water, of a co-grinding agent characterised in that: a) it is constituted by a least one homopolymer and/or at least one copolymer of acrylic acid, which is partially neutralised, of which the rate of molar neutralisation is less than 75% of the total acid functions, b) and in that it is introduced: during the stage of preparation of the aqueous suspensions of GCC and PCC, and/or during stage 2) of co-grinding, and possibly during the stage of co-grinding and another stage of concentration, and possibly during this other stage of concentration. The invention also lies in the resulting aqueous suspensions of GCC and PCC, in the dry pigments of GCC and PCC obtained, and in the use of these products in paper, paint, rubber and plastic.
Abstract: Utilisation of (meth)acrylic comb copolymers with side chains of the hydroxy and alkoxy polyalkylene glycol type in which are present both ethylene oxide and propylene oxide links. These copolymers give a styling effect and an elimination of rinsing. The invention also relates to a cosmetic formulation containing such structures as well as a hair treatment process based on this formulation.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an aqueous suspension of calcium carbonate by grinding in an aqueous medium in the presence of an acrylic grinding aid agent and of an alkaline carbonate salt. These salts enable the quantity of grinding aid agent used to be reduced, for an equivalent level of performance in terms of rheology and granulometry of the suspensions. The method includes a first step of manufacture of the alkaline carbonate salt within the aqueous solution of acrylic polymer itself, through the addition of alkaline hydroxide and bubbling of carbon dioxide.
