Abstract: A multiple-conduit connector includes a first coupling part that includes multiple first connectors associated with a corresponding conduit and a second coupling part that includes multiple second connectors associated with a corresponding conduit. Each conduit of the second coupling part communicates with a corresponding conduit of the first coupling part when the first coupling part and the second coupling part are detachably connected together. The multiple-conduit connector includes a guide projection located on one coupling part and a guide recess to receive the guide projection and disposed at a corresponding location in the other coupling part.

Abstract: The invention relates in general to a respiratory therapy device, and more specifically to an apparatus and method for providing continuous positive airway pressure therapy that may be connected to a small-volume nebulizer in order to provide a combination therapy that requires only a single source of gas. The apparatus of the invention includes a valveless patient interface and a source of pressurized gas which may be split into two streams to provide both continuous positive airway pressure therapy as well as aerosol therapy to a patient.

A venturi patient interface circuit is combined with medicated aerosol to deliver continuous high-frequency oscillation therapy. Fixed open apertures in the patient interface circuit allow ingress and egress of flow, and are calibrated to allow exhalation and prevent stacking of successive breaths.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for treating a variety of breathing disorders experienced by patients. The invention is particularly suited to the treatment of atelectasis, the partial or total collapse of the lung, although those skilled in the art will appreciate that it has applications in treating other disorders as well. Treating patients with breathing disorders traditionally has required the use of multiple types of apparatus in order to provide the multiple types of treatment used. The present invention provides for a treatment apparatus that is enabled to provide multiple types of treatment, depending on the needs of the patient.
