Abstract: A system and a method for plugging a heat exchanger tube or the like. The system includes a plug member having a central shaft having a compressible member mounted on the central shaft such that axial compression of the compressible member radially expands the compressible member into sealing engagement with an inner wall of a tube in which the plug member is inserted. The system further includes a drive means removably engaged with the plug member for inserting the plug member into the tube and for providing axial force on the compressible member to cause radial expansion of the compressible member into sealing engagement with the inner wall of the tube.

Abstract: A composite tube cleaner has a shaft, nose portion and tail portion, and a plurality of metallic scraper devices spaced along the shaft. The scraper devices are U-shaped and have at least two leg portions which terminate as scraping sections. A plastic sheath is secured to and encloses the scraping sections and at least a portion of the leg portions, the sheath preferably having at least one inclined surface along the leg portion which extends outwardly to the scraping section.
Abstract: A tube cleaner that provides for easy insertion into an open end of a tube has a shaft, a nose portion and tail portion, and a plurality of scraper devices secured to the shaft. The scraper devices are U-shaped and have a base and at least two leg portions which have terminal scraping sections. A tongue is provided on the leg portion which extends from the leg portion rearwardly and outwardly to a position adjacent the scraping section of the scraper device.
Abstract: A tube cleaning tool for removal of hard deposits from the interior wall of a tube has a cylindrical body portion with an outer diameter, less than the inner diameter of the tube, a nose portion at one end and a tail portion at the other end, with a plurality of spaced freewheeling cutting wheels provided on the body portion which extend outwardly therefrom, the cutting wheels at least partially contained within the confines of the cylindrical body portion and rotatable about an axis transverse the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body portion.
