  • Patent number: 6053286
Abstract: An incline lift system for incline operation. The lift system includes a pair of guide rails that run parallel to each other at a constant vertical gauge, on which a pair of traction roller sets move thereto. The pair of traction roller sets are mounted to a carriage frame which travels on the pair of guide rails. Each traction roller set includes a driven roller which is positioned on top of the respective guide rail and a pair of pressure rollers which are positioned below the respective guide rail. The periphery of the pressure rollers are driven into the guide rail by means of a restrained compression spring in such a way as to augment the natural gravity contact such that the primary motive force is transferred via traction. The traction roller sets are arranged in such a manner that the pressure rollers press against the respective guide rail and into the driven roller with sufficient force as to increase the gravity traction and create an adequate traction contact area to support the carriage frame.
