  • Publication number: 20230360087
Abstract: The disclosure relates to securing and enabling user control of profiling data, blockchain-driven matching of users and advertiser-identified anonymous profiling data records of interest, and smart contracts encoded by blockchain for executing transactions. The system may include an anonymized database of profiling data, which is unlinked to any user. The system may implement a private blockchain to store user-defined settings that provide user control over whether and how the profiling data may be used. If a grant to use the data is received, a link is stored that allows the system to identify a user associated with the anonymous profiling data records. If the grant is revoked, the link may be removed. The system may also implement public blockchain technology to record a public information relating to grants, online marketing transactions, making them verifiable, immutable, and transparent for various stakeholders including advertisers, publishers, and users.

  • Patent number: 7196495
Abstract: A redundant battery power supply with combined battery charge indication which incorporates a main cell, conductively coupled to the supply bus which powers the load when activated, and a predictive cell, coupled to the bus by an optional diode which becomes forward biased when the main cell voltage drops below the predictive cell voltage. If the main cell becomes discharged, the predictive cell powers the bus. Each cell is coupled to a voltage comparator which compares the cell output voltage to a common reference voltage. When a cell voltage drops below the reference voltage, the corresponding comparator output goes low. The output of the two comparators are combined by a logical AND gate which controls a flashing light. When both the main cell and predictive cell have voltages greater than the reference voltage, the light flashes, but when either cell (or both) has a voltage less than the reference voltage, the light does not flash.

  • Patent number: 6898146
Abstract: An inner race for a streamer cable connector. The inner race includes first and second curved sections with a screwless fastener for clamping the two sections together about the streamer cable. The two curved sections may be hinged at first ends so that the inner race can be opened like a clam shell for placement about the cable. Cooperating teeth on the second ends of the inner race provide a screwless fastener for the two halves, with the teeth cooperatively arranged to ratchet by each other as the curved sections are closed around the cable.

  • Patent number: 6758157
Abstract: A streamer cable connector including a cylindrical inner race and an outer race with a cavity formed therein to capture the inner race. The outer race has leading and trailing fairings to minimize abrupt structural changes along the longitudinal length of the connector in order to minimize self-generated noise as the streamer cable is pulled through the water. The fairings are fabricated of compliant material so that the connector can be wound around a reel while under tension to inhibit damage to the inner race or to the cable itself.

  • Patent number: 6612886
Abstract: A retriever is provided for a marine seismic cable or other tool. The retriever first comprises a housing. Disposed within the housing is a canister for containing gas under pressure. An inflatable bag is fluidly connected to the gas canister within the housing. Gas is prohibited from exiting the gas canister and inflating the bag until hydrostatic pressure acting upon the retriever exceeds a designated amount. If the cable sinks to a certain depth within a water body, the corresponding hydrostatic pressure acting upon the cable will exceed the preset pressure level. An actuating mechanism is then actuated, causing gas to exit the gas canister and to inflate the inflatable bag. In one arrangement, a pop-open cover is provided on the housing. As the bag inflates, it acts to release the pop-open cover from the housing and to further inflate outside of the housing of the retriever. The inflated bag will cause the cable to be buoyantly lifted to the surface of the water body.

  • Patent number: 6525991
Abstract: A quick-acting retainer assembly to mount auxiliary equipment to a seismic cable is provided. The retainer assembly includes a crescent-shaped outer retainer ring adapted to slip easily over a cable and then slide into position over a mating inner race. The outer ring is provided with a spring-loaded cam knob which conveniently conforms to the outer surface of the outer ring and, when the cam knob is turned, it disengages the outer ring from the from the inner race. To attach the outer ring to the inner race, a pin attached to the cam knob rides up on a bevel or slanted plane of the inner race without any further manual action until the pin engages the inner race.

  • Patent number: 5404339
Abstract: A marine seismic streamer cable retriever is activated promptly when the cable and its attached retriever exceed a pre-selected safe depth. In an alternative scenario, an electronics module in the cable retriever monitors the presence of through-cable communications traffic between a mother ship and the various sensors in the cable. If an interruption in communications traffic is detected, a clock starts a count-down and sends a warning to the operator aboard ship. At the end of a count-down period, absent prior operator intervention, the cable retriever is activated.
