  • Patent number: 7496540
Abstract: A system is disclosed for a digital rights management system which enforces license rights by incorporating a decryption key in a license rights package that further includes an account number associated with a primary consumer. The digital rights management system also includes a mechanism for renewing/updating the license by charging the account number associated with a primary consumer. This way, the consumer may transfer the license rights package along with the digital content to any personal devices he likes but he is discouraged from freely disseminating the license package as uses by other consumers will be debited against his package or, if renewed/extended, charged against his account.

  • Patent number: 7487121
Abstract: A mediation system for a converged network system for an xSP (i.e., any service provider of Information Technology (IT)/business services) is readily interactively configured by a user (e.g., an xSP) to correlate and aggregate usage data from a number of collection points for billing-related purposes. Usage data that includes a source record and one or more related records are matched, assembled upon satisfying assembly criteria (e.g., time-base, expression-based, volume-based), and returned in accordance with an assembly specification (e.g., one to one, one to many, many to many).

  • Publication number: 20070208682
Abstract: Expert System supported interactive product selection and recommendation. The invention assists an agent to interact with a customer and to provide selection and recommendation of available products and/or services that offer a workable solution for the customer. The invention allows for the use of agents of varying skill levels, including relatively low skill level, without suffering deleterious performance. From certain perspectives, an expert system employed using various aspects of the invention allows the agent to provide real time interaction with a customer and to provide a real time recommended solution to that customer. Many traditional approaches dealing in complex industries require that agent's have a high degree of skill and expertise. The invention allows even a novice agent to service a customer's needs without requiring a high skill level or up-front training that is often at the expense of the provider seeking to market its products and/or services.

  • Patent number: 7076032
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to voice response systems. Specifically, this invention relates to an interactive voice response client using script engines to control various voice processing systems. In a preferred embodiment, a customer dials a designated phone number and is connected to a main switch of the system. The switch sends a message pertaining to the call to a Computer Telephony Integration system, which in turn sends a signal to an IVR Engine. The IVR Engine is adapted to send and receive data from the caller. The IVR Engine also interacts with a Script Engine that is adapted to run any appropriate scripts, such as a script to apply business rules or logic. The Script Engine sends instructions to the IVR Engine, which are then passed on to the caller. Responses from the caller to the IVR may then be passed back to the Main Script Engine. This process repeats itself until all data is gathered or the call is terminated.

  • Patent number: 6996589
Abstract: A database conversion engine comprising a method and system to convert business information residing on one system to another system. A generic, extensible, scalable conversion engine may perform conversion of source data to target data as per mapping instructions/specifications, target schema specifications, and a source extract format specification without the need for code changes to the engine itself for subsequent conversions. A scheduler component may implement a scalable architecture capable of voluminous data crunching operations. Multi-level validation of the incoming source, data may also be provided by the system. A mechanism may provide data feeds to third-party systems as a part of business data conversion. An English-like, XML-based (extensible markup language), user-friendly, extensible data markup language may be further provided to specify the mapping instructions directly or via a GUI (graphical user interface).

Abstract: A mediation system for converged network system for an xSP (i.e., any service provider of Information Technology (IT)/business services) is readily configured to collect revenue related transaction data (usage data) from new network elements by referencing one or more adapters. Rather than being a compiled, validated and distributed component of the mediation system, these adapters may be accessed after fielding the mediation system or created via a network element definition GUI, thereby reducing the lag time in accommodating new types of network elements.
