Patent number: 4336934Abstract: A rowing exercise machine has a frame including a base portion and an upstanding portion. A seat is mounted intermediate the ends of the upstanding portion on the rearward side and a chest support is mounted thereabove. An upstanding effort arm is pivotally attached adjacent its lower end to the base portion of the frame at a location spaced forwardly of the upstanding portion. A handle member has a forward end pivotally attached adjacent the upper end of the effort arm and extends generally rearwardly towards the chest support. A weight bar is pivotally attached adjacent its rearward end to the upstanding portion of the frame and extends forwardly beyond the effort arm with a mount for weights adjacent its forward end. A tie rod is pivotally attached adjacent one end intermediate the effort arm and pivotally attached adjacent its other end proximate the rearward end of the weight bar.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1981Date of Patent: June 29, 1982Assignee: Corbin Gentry, Inc.Inventors: Michael W. Hanagan, Donald I. Schoeck

Patent number: 4225183Abstract: An armrest assembly adapted for mounting on the back portion of a motorcycle seat includes armrests that are pivotably mounted for pivoting about horizontal and vertical axes. Pivoting about either axis is possible from the normal position, and pivoting can be effected merely by applying a moment to the armrest about the desired axis. As a result, rapid dismounting during an emergency is readily permitted.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1979Date of Patent: September 30, 1980Assignee: Corbin-Gentry, Inc.Inventors: Michael W. Hanagan, Donald I. Schoeck

Patent number: 4188697Abstract: A motorcycle seat is assembled from a metallic base, a separately formed back rest member of generally L-shaped configuration and a pair of generally L-shaped support rods. These are assembled with the support rods and horizontal portion of the back rest member disposed upon the upper surface of the base and secured thereto, and the rods are also secured to the upstanding portion of the back rest member. Cushion means is disposed upon the base and back rest members and includes a cover extending over the back rest member. The back rest member has a concave transverse cross section and is provided with a multiplicity of recesses in the rearward surface thereof in which buttons disposed on the rearward surface of the cover are substantially disposed.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1978Date of Patent: February 19, 1980Assignee: Corbin Gentry, Inc.Inventor: Michael W. Patent number: 4095820Abstract: A seat assembly for mounting on a cycle includes a structurally stiffened saddle having a horizontally extending base and a vertically extending back. Hinge means are provided adjacent one longitudinal side of the saddle base and latching means are provided adjacent the opposite longitudinal side of the saddle base to enable the seat assembly to be mounted on the frame of a cycle, such as a motorcycle, for pivoting about a longitudinal axis of the seat assembly between a latched and unlatched position. A frame having a safety bar portion and a luggage rack diverging from the safety bar portion is rigidly affixed to the back of the saddle. The frame member is dimensioned so that it does not interfere with the pivoting movement of the seat assembly between its latched and unlatched positions. A foamed polyurethane seating pad has an outer cover thereon and is mounted on the saddle to provide a base cushion and back cushion.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1976Date of Patent: June 20, 1978Assignee: Corbin Gentry, Inc.Inventor: Michael W. Patent number: 4038572Abstract: A magnetically driven motor comprises a housing, an output shaft, a stationary field, a rotating field, a control cylinder and a control cylinder drive motor. The housing and the three pairs of permanent magnets mounted thereon are considered to together define the stationary field of the subject motor. The rotating field consists of a series of permanent magnets at least equal in number to the number of pairs of permanent magnets of the stationary field mounted on the output shaft so as to bear preestablished angular relationships relative to each other and so as to be alignable with the pairs of permanent magnets of the stationary field. The control cylinder consists of a metal cylinder of lesser diameter than the housing of the motor and is supported on the output shaft for relative rotation intermediate the permanent magnets of the stationary field and the permanent magnets of the rotating field.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1976Date of Patent: July 26, 1977Assignee: Corbin Gentry Inc.Inventor: Michael W. Patent number: 4011488Abstract: A control system is provided which is particularly suited for employment for purposes of effecting control over the electric motor embodied in an electrically powered motor vehicle which is operable therein as the prime mover thereof. The control system of the present invention is capable of being utilized with all types of electric motors including direct current permanent magnet motors, direct current series wound motors, direct current series shunt motors, or any possible magnet and winding combination of direct current motor. Moreover, the control system of the present invention is further applicable for use with electrically powered motor vehicles that employ alternating current motors of any type such as for instance mutual induction and excited rotor motors. The control system includes a linear field control motor which has two main moving segments.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1975Date of Patent: March 8, 1977Assignee: Corbin Gentry Inc.Inventor: Michael W. Patent number: 3937291Abstract: A motor mount assembly is provided which is particularly adapted for employment in an electric powered motorcycle for mounting the motor thereof thereon. The motor mount assembly is operable for mounting the motor of the electric powered motorcycle so as to enable the motor to move relative to the frame of the motorcycle. The motor mount assembly includes a mount and means for pivotably securing the mount on the motorcycle. The mount which is generally rectangular in configuration embodies a planar portion from which a pair of side rails extend outwardly in spaced parallel relation therefrom at one end thereof. The planar portion is suitably dimensioned so as to be capable of receiving the motor thereon in fixed relation thereto. The free end of each of the side rails is affixed to one of the axles of the motorcycle whereby to be movable relative thereto.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1974Date of Patent: February 10, 1976Assignee: Corbin Gentry, Inc.Inventor: Michael W.
