  • Patent number: 5906433
Abstract: A mixer for products generally disposed in containers, such as, for example, varnishes, paints and the like, comprises a support structure to which a unit, generally movable selectively along a predetermined path, for supporting and clamping at least one container, is connected. The support unit comprises two clamping plates which are mounted on linear sliding guides and are rotatable about a common vertical axis in the operative condition. A plurality of idle wheels roll along an annular path on a surface of each plate in order to withstand loads perpendicular to the plates. The upper support plate can be driven along an axis parallel to the common axis by means of driving screws and is mounted on linear sliding guides and the lower support plate is slidable selectively along an axis perpendicular to the common axis.

  • Patent number: 5904421
Abstract: A device for mixing paints, varnishes and liquid products in general comprises a support unit for the liquid products, which is intended to support and clamp at least one container. A series of sensors is associated with the device in order to provide signals indicative of a characteristic of the container or of the liquid products, for example, the size of the container. Further sensors provide signals indicative of the position of the support unit during its mixing movement. Further signals coming from units outside the device, together with any data input by an operator, contribute to the selection and the control of the sequence or mode of operation in a mixing method including the steps of starting, regulating and stopping a main motor and an auxiliary motor for clamping and releasing the container and for locking the support unit in a predetermined starting position which corresponds to a final position upon completion of the mixing.

  • Patent number: 5507575
Abstract: An agitator for mixing or blending various products, in particular paints, varnishes or the like, disposed in a container, has a fixed support structure which is resiliently connected to a first framework which in turn supports a second framework in a generally oscillatory manner. An upper plate and a lower plate, rotatable about a vertical axis and mounted on the second framework, hold the container. When the machine is in use, an electric motor, mounted on the first framework, rotates a shaft provided with pins which are eccentric relative to the axis of rotation of the shaft and are connected to the second framework. The actuation of the motor gives rise to an orbital oscillatory motion of both frameworks together and the intermittent and unidirectional rotation of the lower plate about a substantially vertical axis. This promotes quick and homogeneous mixing of paints, varnishes or other such products in a broad range of quantities.

  • Patent number: 4705083
Abstract: A machine for automatically batching coloring agents for paint or varnish is disclosed. The machine includes a computerized method for calibrating the amount of coloring agent dispensed with solenoid valves which calculate the viscosity and the delay time for opening and closing the valves so that coloring agents are dispensed with a minimum of less than plus or minus 1% error.
