  • Patent number: 7487723
Abstract: A two-ended ink stamper has at least one handle with at least two ends. A first frame and a second frame are provided, and each frame is disposed adjacent to a different one of the ends of the handle. Each frame extends in a different direction from the handle. At least two platens are respectively operatively attached to, and disposed within, one of the frames for selective movement within the frame between a non-marking position and a marking position. Each platen is secured to the handle and extends outward from a different end of the handle. Thus, moving the handle moves the platens relative to the frames and between non-marking and marking positions.

  • Patent number: 7086331
Abstract: A hand-held ink stamper has a base, an actuator slidably disposed on the base, and a die mount movably mounted within the base. The die mount is connected to the actuator and movable to at least a printing position upon movement of the actuator. A die is mounted on the die mount. A first, removable ink supply is mounted within the base at a first position and provides ink to the die. At least one second, spare, removable ink supply is stored within the base at a second position. The second ink supply is removable for replacing the first ink supply by moving the second ink supply to the first position.

  • Patent number: 6105497
Abstract: A hand-held manually operated labeling apparatus with a housing containing a support for a roll of labels, an interchangeable printing mechanism of either the band-type or slug-type, a label advancing mechanism and a label dispensing mechanism. The two types of printing mechanisms are constructed and arranged so that the print indicia of either mechanism to print a label will be disposed in the same position when they impact a label to be printed as the apparatus is manually actuated. A single housing for the two printing mechanisms supports the various parts for either printing mechanism type. A pivotable front plate in the labeling apparatus housing permits access to slug plates on the slug-type printing mechanism for changing them while that mechanism is mounted in the labeling apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5285574
Abstract: A carton opener has a blade holder for receiving and holding a single edged razor blade. A sheath has a body portion including two side walls closely fitted about the blade holder in which the blade holder is capable of sliding within the sheath between a blade retracted position to at least one blade extended position. A slot is formed on one of the side walls longitudinally along the length of the sheath. A moving member is attached to the blade holder and extends from the blade holder through the slot and is in registry with the slot for moving the blade holder longitudinally with respect to the sheath. The moving member includes a detent biased to a side of the slot having recesses for releasably engaging the recesses when the detent is adjacent thereto.

  • Patent number: 5054198
Abstract: A carton opener comprising a razor blade holder and a sheath. The holder comprises a strip of sheet metal folded on itself to have first and second layers joined at one end. A blade is receivable between the layers adjacent the folded end. The strip at the folded end is cut away at one corner to receive and expose a corner of the blade and is rebated at an edge opposite the cut-away corner to receive the sides of the blade back. The layers are crimped adjacent the folded end to tightly grip the sides of the razor blade. The layers are joined together by striking the layers with a die from one side to form an indentation in one layer extending into the other layer to swage the layers together at the indentation and to form a boss in the other layer extending outwardly therefrom. The sheath comprises a body portion and a guide portion extending generally forward from a forward end of the body portion.

  • Patent number: 4570342
Abstract: A device for holding a backed razor blade comprising a holder including a strip of sheet metal folded on itself to have first and second layers joined at one end. The blade is receivable between the layers adjacent the folded end. The strip at the folded end is cut away at one corner to receive and expose a corner of the blade and rebated at an edge opposite the cut-away corner to receive the sides of the safety razor blade back. The layers of folded strip are joined together at a point adjacent the end thereof opposite the folded end by striking the layers with a die from one side to form an indentation in one layer extending into the other layer to swage the layers together at the indentation and to form a boss in the other layer extending outwardly therefrom. A sheath is closely fitted about the holder and is slidable thereon from a blade covering position in which the sheath covers the blade to a sheath retracted position in which the corner of the blade is exposed.

  • Patent number: 4323202
Abstract: An adaptor core for rotatably mounting a coreless roll of labels or the like on the spindle of a labeling gun of the type designed to accept only cored rolls of labels. The adaptor core comprises a hollow generally cylindrical body of one-piece construction having a central circular opening therein, and a series of relatively thin resilient fingers formed integrally with the body and extending laterally outwardly therefrom at the periphery of the body. The core is placed in the central opening of a coreless roll of labels with the fingers engaging the roll and being sprung inwardly by the roll. The outward springing force exerted by the fingers against the roll is sufficient to secure the body in place relative to the roll with the opening in the body generally concentric with the opening in the roll for receiving the spindle of the labeling gun thereby to rotatably mount the adaptor core and roll on the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4289070
Abstract: An inner frame having upper and lower portions carries an inkable pad in the lower portion thereof. The pad projects below the inner frame for contact with a surface to be stamped. An integral retaining ridge is located on the outer surface of the inner frame between the upper and lower portions. An outer frame is detachably connected to the inner frame and a hollow sleeve member is interposed between the inner and outer frames. The sleeve member has an upper flange which is located above the integral retaining ridge. A plurality of C-shaped resilient fingers integrally molded with the inner frame, outer frame or the sleeve member is located between the upper flange of the sleeve and the inner and outer frames. The lower edge of the sleeve member extends below the level of the inkable pad when the spring member is in the relaxed position. Downward pressure on the outer frame is transmitted by the detachable connection to the inner frame.
