Publication number: 20240138862Abstract: A medical device catheter comprises a proximal end to remain outside a patient's body, a distal end for insertion into the body, and a catheter shaft having a first longitudinal centerline axis. At the distal end, there is a cavitation bubble chamber along a second longitudinal centerline axis. The catheter includes cavitation solution lumens in communication with the cavitation bubble chamber and corresponding solution fittings at the proximal end. Additionally, there are conductors and an electrode gap in the cavitation bubble chamber, and a guidewire lumen with a third longitudinal centerline axis, where each of the first, second and third longitudinal centerline axes are offset from one another to allow for targeted medical procedures such as lithotripsy while ensuring a compact design of the catheter and robust performance even at higher voltages.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2024Publication date: May 2, 2024Applicant: COVELLUS LLCInventor: Bradley BEACH

Publication number: 20230405268Abstract: A medical device catheter comprises a first tube comprising a first cavitation solution lumen having a distal opening; and a second tube housing the first tube and comprising a cavitation bubble chamber, a second cavitation solution lumen in fluid communication with the first cavitation solution lumen through the distal opening, and a distal plug at a distal end of the cavitation bubble chamber to create a distal boundary of the cavitation bubble chamber. A proximal rapid exchange guidewire exit is positioned distal to the distal boundary of the cavitation bubble chamber and in communication with a guidewire lumen; and a first powered electrode extends through the first tube and the first cavitation solution lumen and cavitation bubble chamber and into the distal plug beyond the distal boundary of the cavitation bubble chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2023Publication date: December 21, 2023Applicant: COVELLUS LLCInventor: Bradley BEACH

Patent number: 11793988Abstract: A modular medical device catheter including a parent module and an adapter module. An attachment mechanism couples the adapter module to a surface of an inner lumen of the parent module. The attachment mechanism includes a coil in which a surface of the coil directly engages with the surface of the lumen of the parent module. The adapter module can include an elongated element having one or more electrical conductors.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2020Date of Patent: October 24, 2023Assignee: COVELLUS LLCInventor: Bradley Beach

Patent number: 11420035Abstract: An adapter constructed to have a proximal portion that interfaces with the internal lumen of a medical device and a distal portion that modifies, augments or extends the configuration or intended use of the medical device. The proximal portion of the adapter interfaces with the internal lumen of the medical device in a manner to secure the adapter to the medical device during use. The distal portion of the adapter is generally outside the lumen of the catheter or device.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2019Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Assignee: COVELLUS LLCInventor: Bradley Beach
