Abstract: An electronic processing system for generating a partially personalized electronic data display that contains a combination of recommended and expanded interest items. The system retrieves a first set of data describing an area of user interests and retrieves a first set of items corresponding to the area of user interests. The system retrieves a second set of items in an expanded area of interest that is not directly included in the area of user interest. The first and second set of items are combined and the combined set of recommended and expanded interest items is displayed.

Abstract: The invention provides a web site with content designed to elicit responses from users that contain keyword dense content for a chosen word or words. Users submit responses to the website and the website displays the responses on a web page. The accumulation of targeted and keyword specific material in natural language as recorded and displayed on the web site attracts search engine spiders and achieve a higher ranking in response to key word searches matching the keyword dense content.

Abstract: Improved techniques for customizing information provided from a content server through a network to a user of a computer system in accordance with demographic classifications, user interests, or preferences are disclosed. Such customizing can involve banner advertising on the Internet whereby the advertising banners are able to be targeted to the user. The customizing can also involve altering portions of a web page to be displayed to the user so that the web page is more effective, useful or desirable for the user. Besides customization of the information to be displayed to the user, the invention also provides techniques for obtaining demographic information about the user of the computer system, and techniques for transmitting the demographic information over the network so that remote content servers that provide information content to the user can do so with knowledge of the demographic information about the user.

Abstract: A large, warp resistant, reel is formed of a molded plastic cylindrically shaped hub with disk-like flanges co-axially arranged upon and secured to the opposite ends of the hub The flanges are each formed of a framework of numerous, spaced apart, radially extending spokes, and spaced apart concentric hoops. The spokes intersect the hoops and are integrally joined thereto. Thin, rigid co-planar plastic sheets extend across the spaces between, and are integrally joined to, the adjacent portions of the spokes and hoops. The spokes are generally T-shaped in cross-section with the heads of the T-shape being wide and thin and integrally formed on the inner, facing surfaces of the flanges and the legs of the T-shape being narrow and long and integrally formed on the outer surfaces of the flanges.

The width of the reel may be varied by changing the number of rings. The diameters of the flange may be varied by blocking off the outer portions of the mold in which the flask sections are molded to remove selected amounts of the peripheral portions of the sections for reducing the flange diameter. The hub rings and flange sections are interchangeable with like rings and sections for repair or reduced inventory purposes.

Integral projections on the nest extend into their adjacent overlapped openings and engage the sides of adjacent strips for accurately positioning the nest relative to the base.
