Patent number: 5463779Abstract: An interlining of multiple plies the plies of which may be dissimilar, is made by joining fabric from respective rolls, gathering the stitched-together fabric as roll goods, and die cutting the stitched-together fabric from the roll goods before sewing the interlinings into neckwear.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1991Date of Patent: November 7, 1995Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventor: Fred J. Pinkus

Patent number: 4980930Abstract: A garment waistband construction is provided. The waistband construction employs a strip of composite fabric comprising a nonwoven fabric having a layer of monofilament yarns of about 150 to about 1,050 denier attached thereto. The monofilament yarns are oriented along the width of the composite fabric strip.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1987Date of Patent: January 1, 1991Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventor: Joseph T. Cusimano

Patent number: 4814225Abstract: A non-resin treated fusible interlining fabric comprises, in a woven embodiment, high wet modulus rayon in the warp and filling, and in a knit embodiment, high wet modulus rayon in a weft-inserted yarn. Non-woven fabric using high wet modulus rayon is also disclosed. The fabrics provide improved dimensional control, hand, drape, bond strength and fusing performance.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1987Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventor: Dattatraya V. Kamat

Patent number: 4737396Abstract: A composite fusible interlining fabric is provided. The fabric comprises a nonwoven layer and a fibrous layer stitched together. A coating of thermoactive adhesive material is disposed on the outer face of the fibrous layer.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1987Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventor: Dattatraya V. Patent number: 4583249Abstract: A waistband assembly is provided including a woven stiffening strip having a smooth fused edge. The edge may be formed by an ultrasonic slitting process as the strip is made with a high thermoplastic content. Sufficient warp yarns are provided within the strip to insure adequate fusing along the edges. This prevents the fill from working its way out and thereby forming an irregularly shaped edge. A rough edge, which could damage the shell fabric of a garment, is accordingly avoided even after numerous dry cleanings. Because the edge is made from the same materials as the strip itself, it will last as long as the strip.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1983Date of Patent: April 22, 1986Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventors: Dattatraya V. Patent number: 4495661Abstract: The composite chest piece interlining material is formed of first and second outside layers of fabric with a sheet of foam material sandwiched therebetween. Discontinuous adhesive coating is applied to the inner surfaces of the outside layers of fabric and adhesively connects the same to the opposite surfaces of the middle layer of foam material. The foam material provides bulk and resiliency to the interlining material while the first and second outside layers of fabric provide smooth and nonabrasive surfaces to the interlining material and also restrict the normal tendency of the foam material to stretch and tear.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1983Date of Patent: January 29, 1985Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventor: Dattatraya V. Kamat

Patent number: 4450196Abstract: The composite fusible interlining fabric is formed of a layer of nonwoven fabric, a layer of fibrous material positioned against the reverse or rear side of the layer of nonwoven fabric, stitch yarn knit through the layer of nonwoven fabric and the layer of fibrous material and securing them together, and a coating of thermoactive adhesive material on the front or face side of the layer of nonwoven fabric. The layer of nonwoven fabric provides a smooth surface for the coating of thermoactive adhesive material. Additionally, the layer of nonwoven fabric of closely compacted fibers provides a barrier or shield to prevent strike back of the adhesive coating material when the composite interlining fabric is fused to the base or garment fabric.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1983Date of Patent: May 22, 1984Assignee: Crown Textile CompanyInventor: Dattatraya V.
