  • Publication number: 20130168209
Abstract: A belt conveyor for grain or other granular materials has an enclosed housing, a bottom return, an infeed end and a discharge head. The conveyor uses a special high angle lift belt with projecting lugs of approximately two inches high and having cooperating angled elements that form material receiving pockets. The lugs are arrayed on the belt in meshing relationship so that as the belt curls laterally within the housing, the lugs prevent backflow of materials at least up to a forty degree angle when the conveyor is running. The bottom return section of the conveyor has a plurality of belt supporting rollers extending transversely across the return section. The belt lugs are also arranged so that upper ends of the lugs form a longitudinally and transversely continuous supportive surface for low friction running support by the belt return rollers.

  • Patent number: 6068103
Abstract: An extension or companion conveyor is used with a primary conveyor to convey grain or other granular materials. The companion conveyor swings into a lesser angle than the primary conveyor, which may be at a relatively steep angle to convey grain into a tall bin. The companion elevator travels at a high rate relative to the primary conveyor to provide an accelerator function. A mounting mechanism between the companion and primary conveyors includes a swing arm pivotally connected in its opposite ends so as to swing the companion conveyor from end to end abutment with the primary conveyor forwardly and outwardly to a stored/transport position parallel to the primary conveyor. A slip connection in the mounting mechanism allows the angle of the companion conveyor relative to the primary conveyor to vary as it is folded against the primary to reduce the pushing force necessary to be applied by an operator during the first half of travel of the swing arm.

  • Patent number: 5398771
Abstract: A grain drill is disclosed having a folding frame for parallel operation and a parallel link system that controls the tension to earth openers in order to produce relatively constant downward pressure for the openers. The grain drill includes a rotating tool bar for facilitating the adjustment of downward pressure to the openers, controlling the ground cutting depth of the openers and raising the tools to obtain the ground clearance needed for road transport. The drill has disc openers with axially collocated discs having different outer diameters and a narrow angle between the opener discs producing a "V" shaped groove for seeding. The grain drill has a common horizontal center to support seed boxes, fixed dual wheels and a hitch for connection to a pulling vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5380142
Abstract: A drop chute extension for unloading a shuttle dumping transport vehicle for harvested cotton bolls extends the length of the conveyor dump side wall when unloading the transport vehicle. The extension of the conveyor dump side wall allows cotton to be dumped in the middle and far side of a module builder or trailer. The drop chute extension can be folded over and down into the basket of the dumping transport vehicle, reducing both the transport height and width of the vehicle. The drop chute extension includes two hydraulic extension arm cylinders which cause the door chute to extend or retract and are interconnected with the hydraulic system of the vehicle lift basket. Operation of the basket lift cylinders is precluded until the extension arm cylinders have fully extended the chute door. The drop chute extension is also joined to a second hydraulic system to operate an unloading conveyor which extends into the extension.
