Abstract: The invention relates to methods and systems for measuring the melting point of a material. The method and systems of the invention may reduce the time required to determine the melting point of one or more samples. Furthermore, the methods and systems of the invention result in an accurate and precise measurement of the melting temperature. Thus, the method and system of the invention are preferred over current methods for measuring the melting point.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the identification of haplospecific geometric elements (HGEs) in a multigene cluster comprising genes encoding complement control proteins. The present invention also relates to methods of performing genomic matching techniques (GMT) which enables the identification of HGEs of a duplicated region within a haplotype block. HGEs identified using the methods of the invention can also be analysed to determine if they are markers for a trait of interest such as a disease trait. Furthermore, the present invention relates to methods of determining an individual's susceptibility or predisposition to age-related macular degeneration, recurrent spontaneous abortion, Sjögren's Syndrome and/or psoriasis vulgaris by analysing the genotype of the individual within a multigene cluster comprising genes encoding complement control proteins.
