  • Patent number: 11274018
Abstract: Elevator interior lighting provided by a temporary LED light fixture and power supply installed on or adjacent an elevator canopy. The temporary LED power supply comprises an LED driver and an emergency LED power supply. The LED driver connects to LEDs of the temporary LED light fixture and supplies sufficient power to provide code-compliant temporary lighting in the cab. The emergency LED power supply module connects to one or more emergency LEDs and supplies sufficient power to provide code-compliant emergency lighting in the cab upon loss of primary electrical power. To minimize costs when converting to permanent lighting, additional LED light fixtures can be added and connected to the same temporary LED power supply, and the emergency LED power module may be relocated into a down light power supply to power two or more down lights in the event of a loss of primary electrical power.

  • Patent number: 8558407
Abstract: An elevator emergency LED lighting power supply assembly including an inverter that receives DC power from a battery and outputs backup power to LED lamps of an elevator lighting system. An LED driver is connected to the inverter, is connectable to an LED lamp of the elevator lighting system, receives AC power from the inverter, and outputs DC power sufficient to power an LED lamp. A relay is connected between the inverter and the LED driver, is connectable to a primary elevator electrical power supply, and allows AC power to flow from a primary elevator electrical power supply to elevator lighting system LEDs through the LED driver as long as AC power is available from a primary elevator electrical power supply. Upon loss of power from the primary elevator power supply the relay switches contacts and provides to the LED driver AC power received from the inverter.

  • Patent number: 5412542
Abstract: An emergency illumination device for elevator cabs and the like that includes a low voltage power source defined by the secondary winding of a stepdown transformer having its primary winding connected across a primary power source. When the primary power source is "on", a charging circuit maintains a constant charge on an emergency battery source while providing battery source power to an emergency alarm device that can be activated by a push button on the control panel of the elevator. When the primary power is off, the emergency battery source is activated by a circuit that will continue to provide power to the alarm device and also will provide general illumination to the interior of the elevator and spot illuminate the push button so that it can be easily located and operated by occupants in need of assistance.

  • Patent number: 5408394
Abstract: A down lighting system for elevator cabs and the like includes halogen lights in standard and emergency light fixtures. Both types of fixtures are connected to the ceiling by a clamp arrangement which is universally adaptable to a wide variety of ceiling types without changing the light housing dimensions. The clamp arrangement fastens light housings against rotation with respect to the ceiling and it is adjustable to different height ceiling configurations merely by connection to different vertical positions of the outer surface of the fixture. The standard fixture includes a halogen bulb with its own reflector. The emergency lighting fixture includes a halogen bulb/reflector unit with the emergency self focusing bulbs concentrically spaced around it. Both light sources pass focused light directly into the space below the ceiling for meeting test point candle power requirements.
