    Abstract: The moveable roll of a rolling mill is locked in the engaged position by lock means which include a tension shaft. The tension shaft is telescoped through and biased by a compression spring toward the stationary roll. The end of the tension shaft has an eccentric which causes a housing pad to engage arms carrying the bearings of the moveable roll.
