Patent number: 6427800Abstract: The invention relates to a sound-attenuating ear plug, comprising an elongate elastic body (103) adapted to be inserted at least partially into an auditory meatus. A foil (117) which is rounded in the longitudinal direction (115) of the body (103) and which is extended transversely of this longitudinal direction (115) is responsible for the major part of the sound-attenuating effect of the ear plug. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such an ear plug.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2000Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventors: Per Hiselius, Lars Nilsson

Patent number: 6264870Abstract: A method for manufacturing an integrated earplug, including the steps of injecting in a multimaterial-injection moulding machine an elongate core or body part of a thermoplastic elastomeric material which has a relatively high hardness, and an outer sealing part essentially enclosing the core or body part, at least partially, and made of a thermoplastic elastomeric material which has a relatively lower hardness. The material of the outer sealing part is softer than the material of the core or body part and has a Shore A Durometer hardness of less than about 10.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1998Date of Patent: July 24, 2001Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventor: Jörgen Håkansson

Patent number: 6123168Abstract: Banded hearing protector that includes two hearing protecting bodies of soft, sound attenuating material and a headband including a central part having two ends and headband shanks having angled ends. Each angled end may support one of the two hearing protecting bodies. The banded hearing protector may also include a hinge that swingably couples each of the headband shanks to the central part and each of the two hearing protecting bodies may include a convexly curved contact surface positioned opposite the angled ends.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1997Date of Patent: September 26, 2000Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventors: Bengt Goran Berg, Hans Peter Jorgen H.ang.kansson

Patent number: 6104818Abstract: A microphone circuit with low distortion and having the capability of an electronic volume control. The circuit includes a capacitor microphone cap provided with a field effect transistor at the output end and a capacitor connected to the output end of the microphone cap. A resistance for supplying a driver voltage to the microphone circuit is connected to a connecting point between the microphone cap and the capacitor. Preferably a transistor adapted to generate a driver voltage for the microphone circuit or an electronic valve is connected between the microphone cap and the connecting point. The emitter of the transistor is then connected to the collector of the field effect transistor and the collector of the transistor is connected to the connecting point.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1997Date of Patent: August 15, 2000Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventor: Peter Korner

Patent number: 5988313Abstract: An earplug made of an elastic polymeric material, preferably a thermoplastic elastomeric material, and a method for manufacturing the same. The earplug is multi-material-injection moulded with a core or body part (1) and a sealing part (3), the latter being made of an essentially softer material than the core or body part (1). The material of the sealing part has a Shore A Durometer hardness of preferably between about 2 and about 6.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1997Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventor: Jorgen H.ang.kansson

Patent number: 5970160Abstract: Earmuff and method for changing the noise attenuation characteristic of an earmuff. The change is obtained by providing foam-filled sealing ring of the earmuff in the annular covering thereof with a large number of ventilation apertures which are uniformly distributed along the sealing ring, thereby affecting the air spring action of the sealing ring. The ventilation apertures communicate with the environment without communicating with interior of the earmuff. By reducing the air spring action to a considerable extent, the low frequency attenuation is improved. The communication with the environment provides "acoustic ducts", particular by using special ventilation ducts which can be dimensioned to give a selective noise transmission, dependent on the duct resonance, into the sealing ring, thereby selectively affecting the noise attenuation characteristic.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventors: Lars Bertil Nilsson, Per Olof Hiselius

Patent number: 5815842Abstract: An earmuff incorporating elevated sound attenuation. The earmuff comprises an outer cup (10') which connects with a sealing part. Arranged within the earmuff are a plurality of separating partitioning walls (14) which extend from the bottom wall (16) of the cup towards the sealing part. The partitioning walls (14) may be integral with the cup (10') or formed separately therefrom and loosely fitted thereinto.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1997Date of Patent: October 6, 1998Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventor: Per Hiselius

Patent number: 5806678Abstract: A box for keeping earplugs, including a container part, a lid attached to the container part for closing the container, and elements for attachment and suspension of the box to clothes, a nail or the like. The lid is self-closing by provision of a springing action, and the lid is provided with a protrusion for snap-in locking cooperation with a corresponding indent inside the container part. The attachment element includes a clip having two parts which are flexible in relation to each other in order for a portion of an article, to which the box is intended to be attached, such as a belt, the cloth of a garment, a button, etc., to be inserted between the two flexible parts. The suspension element includes a loop attached to the box.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1997Date of Patent: September 15, 1998Assignee: Dalloz Safety AbInventor: Jorgen H.ang.kansson

Patent number: 5704069Abstract: Use of a superabsorbent nonwoven material in a moisture absorbing cover for an earmuff. A moisture absorbing ring-shaped cover for a sealing ring of an earmuff includes an inner layer (23) of super-absorbent fiber material. A device for use in moisture absorption at an earmuff comprises a cover (7) of this type and a supplementary cover (9) of the same construction intended for application within the earmuff and with a form corresponding to that of the area encompassed by the ring-shaped cover (7).Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1995Date of Patent: January 6, 1998Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventor: Lars-Gunnar Lennart Andersson
