Abstract: A controlled release container includes an outer shell and a separately produced core that comprises at least one bioactive molecule. At least a portion of the outer shell comprises a biodegradable polymeric material that has a predetermined rate of degradation. The outer shell preferably is non-porous and provides a predetermined delay of at least two days from administration of the capsule before release of the active ingredient.
Abstract: Compositions for the treatment/prevention of microbial diseases of fruit comprising an effective amount of at least one yeast strain selected from the species Rhodotorula glutinis (Fres.) Harrison and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa (Jorg.) Harrison; optionally in association with one or more agriculturally acceptable carriers or excipients are described, as well as methods involving the same. Compositions may be applied to fruit either pre-harvest or post-harvest with post-harvest treatment being preferred. Microbial diseases of fruit which may be treated include blue mold, grey mold, mucor rot and transit rot of fruit.
Abstract: A controlled release agricultural composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of: 1) a water insoluble matrix comprising a viscous oil (i.e., a hydrocarbon crude oil or post-refining residual oil) selected from the group consisting of bitumen, abietic acid, ester derivatives of abietic acid, carboxylic acid containing materials, and carboxylic acid ester containing materials, and 2) at least one active ingredient, which has a melting point of less than 140.degree. C. and is soluble in the viscous oil matrix, selected from the group consisting of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and nematicides.
