Abstract: A marker pole for embedding in a support medium for drawing attention to potentially hazardous subsurface structures within the support medium includes a generally elongate pole body molded from a generally brightly colored plastic material with a penetrating end formed with a tapered tip for insertion into the support medium, the taper being greater than forty-five degrees from a centerline longitudinal axis of the; and a metal impact cap fitted over the end opposite the penetrating end, the impact cap including a generally cylindrical body having an access opening on one end thereof and a substantially planar surface opposing the access opening, the planar surface being in substantial contact with the upper surface of the pole body for enhanced force transmission between the impact cap and the pole body during insertion of the pole into the support medium using an impact producing tool.
Abstract: A pry bar comprises a shank portion and an integral U-shaped prying hook portion that is free of defined flats and instead has a continuous cam surface extending all the way from the apex of the U-shaped portion along the outer leg to the tip end. The pry bar includes axially extending channels in opposed sides of the shank portion such that the shank portion defines a generally I-shaped cross section with wider top and bottom beam portions and a narrower intermediate beam portion.

Abstract: A spirit level including a frame having parallel working surfaces and a web interconnecting the working surfaces. One or more vial openings of regular octagonal configuration are formed in the web. A vial case member having an octagonal wall is selectively positionable in the opening in the web with the vial extending either parallel to or perpendicular to or at an angle of forty-five degrees to the working surfaces. A second vial case member is disposed at the side of the web opposite the first mentioned case member and bonded to the octagonal wall on the case member to hold the case members in assembled relation on the web. A pair of case covers of like configuration are mounted at opposite sides of the web with hook portions on the cover members extending through openings in the web.
