  • Patent number: 6370885
Abstract: A point-of-sale display for selling containers of chilled food items includes a quadrilateral vessel having a bottom and end and side walls, the walls containing thermally insulating material. At least seven removable panels each of which contains a material that is liquid at room temperature and has a freezing point of about 32 degrees Fahrenheit or colder are configured to fit together to form vertical walls about at least one interior chamber in the vessel and sized to be placed into the vessel with two panels on opposed vessel ends, two panels each on opposed vessel sides and one panel extending between the vessel sides spaced from each vessel end, the panel extending between the vessel sides extending fully between the vessel sides and the panels on each vessel side together not extending fully along the side. The panels can be placed in a freezer below the freezing point of the liquid until the liquid freezes and then placed in the vessel to form an interior chamber in the vessel.

  • Patent number: 6067810
Abstract: A chilled item server is disclosed including an outer barrel formed of thermoplastic material that has a generally cylindrical shape, substantially vertical sides, a generally flat, closed bottom, and an open top having an annular ledge. An inner liner fits within the outer barrel and has a generally elongated truncated pyramidal shape, a generally flat bottom, an open top with an extended rim formed to compliment the generally square opening shape of the outer barrel and to rest on the annular ledge. A chamber is located between the inner liner and the outer barrel and is filled with polystyrene foam. At least one freezer panel is formed of appropriate size and shape to fit within the inner liner. The freezer panel is formed of thermoplastic material and arranged in a syncline. The freezer panels have cavities within each freezer panel that is filled with 2% saline solution. Casters are mounted to the generally flat bottom of the outer barrel.

  • Patent number: 5746328
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying products at retail on a pegboard having spaced holes includes at least two pegboard connection elements each including a wedge-shaped back plate, upper and lower inward-facing grooves spaced apart a first distance and prongs spaced apart by a distance equal to spacing between holes in the pegboard. Knife brackets have upper and lower outwardly-facing flanges engageable with a corresponding pegboard connection by lateral insertion of the flanges in the grooves to engage the knife brackets with the pegboard connection elements and a plurality of indentations along a direction extending from the pegboard. A tray supported on the knife brackets has a catch shaped to be received in one of the indentations to permit the spacing of the tray from the pegboard to be adjusted to a desired distance. The tray includes front and rear walls having downward-facing ledge elements with one of the ledge elements being resiliently mounted to its respective wall.

  • Patent number: 5353939
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying packages in a retail environment includes a rack having vertical sidewalls and a bar interconnecting the sidewalls. A tray has protrusions from an underside thereof adapted to engage the bars to support the tray in a first, retracted package displaying position and a second, extended package loading position. A divider insert includes a plurality of parallel upright divider walls and is sized to releasably fit within the tray, thereby forming channels atop the tray. A plurality of product pushers are releasably connected to the tray in the channels. Packages to be displayed may be positioned in the channels for the product pusher to urge them to one end of the tray for retail purchase and the apparatus may be disassembled to arrange a different divider insert and a plurality of pushers differently in the tray.

  • Patent number: 5351839
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying goods in a retail environment includes a frame having sideboards, a rear board and a plurality of upright standards, each standard having a plurality of apertures spaced therealong, and a plurality of supports having knife brackets and crosswise-extending bars. Each support is affixed to two of the standards by insertion of its knife brackets into apertures of the standards and each includes forwardly-extending rails. A plurality of trays each include a plurality of location means across a width of the tray and is supported on the rails of one of the supports. The trays have first and second protrusions from their undersides, the first protrusion adapted to engage the crosswise-extending bar to support the tray in a first, retracted package-displaying position, and the second protrusion adapted to engage the bar to support the tray in a second, extended, package-loading position.

  • Patent number: 5294020
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying and dispensing cylindrical objects having a diameter and a length along an axis includes a base supporting a reservoir configured and arranged to hold a plurality of cylindrical objects to be dispensed. The reservoir communicates with a downwardly and forwardly extending chute terminating in a forward display position on the base. The cylindrical object displayed in the display position is axially distended from the plurality of cylindrical objects held in the reservoir. Thus, upon loading a plurality of cylindrical objects into the reservoir, the chute and display position are filled with cylindrical objects and upon removal of a cylindrical object from the display position, cylindrical objects descend under the influence of gravity from the reservoir to the chute and from the chute to the display position.

  • Patent number: 5240125
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying goods packaged in glass containers on a shelf along the "glass aisle" of a grocery store is disclosed. Included is a bracket having two outwardly extending flanges positionable in a card channel on the front of a store shelf, outwardly extending mounts and a fascia mounted thereto, the fascia including a surface adapted to receive a label appropriate for the goods displayed, a stop to prevent containers from being pushed off the shelf, and opposed holes. Elongated rails extend rearward of the bracket and include outwardly extending forward terminations to permit the rails to be pinched together for alignment with and insertion into the holes in the bracket to join the bracket and rails, facilitating selective detachment of the rails from the bracket, an inner, lower pair of rails on which the containers may be supported, a first outer, upper pair for engaging the sides of the containers, and a second upper pair of rails to restrain tipping of the glass containers.
