Abstract: An operating theatre lamp which transmits a directed beam of light is pivlly arranged about two axes (43, 44), which are substantially perpendicular to one another and to the beam of light (12), above the site of an operation 13. The pivotal movement of the operating theatre lamp is effected by two positioning motors (41, 42). The operating theatre lamp has a light beam selector (11) which cooperates with a control reflector (38) and a control circuit (40) in such a way that the lamp reflector (55) of the operating theatre lamp automatically follows the control reflector during displacement of the control reflector (38) within the site of the operation.
