Abstract: A field thrasher includes a housing assembly and a thrashing assembly. The housing assembly includes an upper thrashing enclosure with a mouth opening and a chaffe discharge opening. A lower, collection enclosure is mounted below the thrashing enclosure and includes a grain discharge opening, an air discharge opening and a chaffe discharge opening. A spout is mounted on the thrashing enclosure in communication with the mouth opening. The thrashing assembly includes a flail subassembly comprising a rotor shaft rotatably mounted in the thrashing enclosure and tines extending outwardly from the rotor shaft. A drive subassembly includes a motor drivingly coupled to the rotor shaft and mounted on top of the thrashing enclosure. A fan subassembly is mounted in a fan compartment at an upper end of the thrashing enclosure and provides an airflow through the housing.
