Abstract: A method of operating a cellular mobile radio system with a plurality of radio cells each of which is supplied by one or more base stations, in which connection each base station regularly sends out system information which is received and evaluated by mobile stations present in the supply region of the base station to indicated which services are supported at the time by the corresponding base station. The invention is characterized by the fact that one or more base stations of selected radio cells send out additional system information which can be received by correspondingly developed mobile stations, and the mobile station determines from the system information and the additional system information whether a cell supports no services, exclusively the previous services, exclusively one or more additional services, or all services offered.

Abstract: A method for improving the radio cell illumination in a cellular mobile radio system provides that there are a number of neighboring cells adjoining each other and partially overlapping each other, wherein in the marginal region of each cell is arranged at least one fixed transmitter. In order to obtain optimized radio cell illumination, it is provided that the fixed transmitters of neighboring cells directly adjoining a cell transmit to this cell with the same channel group as the fixed transmitter of the cell to be supplied itself. In this way a mobile station located in the cell is supplied not only by one fixed transmitter, but also by the fixed transmitters of neighboring cells. Abstract: A control system for the radio coverage of a cellular digital mobile communication system by a process for the lighting of radio cells, in which the mobile station (MS) is supplied with the same signal from several base stations (BS) from the edge of the cell in the mutual broadcasting system via directional aerials. One cell controller (CC) is provided for the compound optimization of the cell parameters which contains the new functions for signal processing and the control of the radio devices determined by the radio cell lighting process used.
