  • Process for the treatment of a surgical suturing thread and surgical suturing thread

    Abstract: A surgical suturing thread is coated with a fatty acid metal salt. For this purpose it is dissolved in an organic solvent and the suturing thread is coated with the hot solution, whose temperature is so high that the fatty acid metal salt remains in the dissolved state. The solvent is then evaporated from the thus applied coating at elevated temperature.
