Patent number: 11854048Abstract: A method and system for controlling real-time bidding for online advertisements is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises communicating with a bidder and an impression server and an event tracking server. The bidder receives a real-time bidding (RTB) request containing an available impression from an exchange and places a bid corresponding to the RTB request. The impression server receives impression requests from a browser and responds to the impression requests from the browser. The event tracking server receives event requests from the browser and responds to event requests from the browser. Campaign performance data is retrieved from one or more of the impression server and the event tracking server and compared to the campaign target. The bidder is notified whether to bid for online advertisement impressions based on the campaign performance data.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2020Date of Patent: December 26, 2023Assignee: Valassis Digital Corp.Inventors: Ben Haley, Michael Els, Damien Harris, Christopher Farmer, Kurt Carlson

Patent number: 11523250Abstract: Reliable location data is found using messages with unreliable location data. A logistic-geohash is found for a plurality of messages. Records of are accessed data messages, each data message including a geographic locator and a sender-identifier. For each sender-identifier, one or more geogroups are determined. For each geogroup: determining, a representative point of the geogroup is found to represent the geogroup. Using the representative point of the geogroup, a geogroup-geohash is found. Pair of geogroup: logistic address are found based on a matching of at least some of the first plurality of digits and some of the second plurality of digits. For each pair of geogroup:logistic address, a distance is determined between the representative point of the geogroup and the representative point of the logistic address. Geogroup:logistic address pairs are selected. The selected geogroup:logistic address pairs are stored in memory as representing a logistic location of the sender-identifier.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2021Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Valassis Digital Corp.Inventor: Patrick Nicholson

Patent number: 9792943Abstract: An optical encoder disk comprising an opaque disk, an outer track adjacent a peripheral edge of the disk, an inner index track defined by a first pattern of radial light-blocking elements subtending an arc within an annular band interposed between the outbound track and an axis of the disk, and an opaque support pattern of non-radial elements located within the annular band outside of the arc in which the index track is located formed of substantially non-radial elements. The inner index track further includes pattern apertures formed through the disk between the light-blocking elements so that light emitted on one face of the disk passes through the pattern apertures and falls upon photodetectors located adjacent an opposite face of the disk.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2015Date of Patent: October 17, 2017Assignee: U.S. Digital Corp.Inventor: Kurt Liebezeit

Patent number: 8464449Abstract: Diorama made from a two-dimensional image having a background panel in which a background section of the image appears and a plurality of additional panels on which additional sections of the image appear. The additional panels extend forwardly from the background panel, with edges of adjacent ones of the panels coming together and the image flowing continuously between the panels.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2009Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: Axial-Digital Corp.Inventor: Anthony D. Williams

Patent number: 8425992Abstract: Diorama having a focal zone and a plurality of inclined panels on which different areas of a two-dimensional image are displayed. The panels are disposed about the focal zone, which can be an area, a line, or a point, and the image flows continuously between the panels with no physical seams between areas of the image displayed on adjacent ones of the panels. The panels are rotated away from a seam line that extends between the focal zone and an outer edge of the image, and outwardly diverging edges of the panels along edges of the image created by the rotation are brought together along the seam line to tilt the panels to their inclined positions and create an enhanced perspective effect.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2011Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Assignee: Axial-Digital Corp.Inventor: Anthony D. Williams

Patent number: 6071317Abstract: A method and system for modifying computer program logic with respect to a predetermined aspect, comprising (a) before run time: analyzing compiled computer program logic of a module for processes involving the predetermined aspect before run time, substantially without decompilation or reference to computer program source code; and storing a set of modifications relating to computer program logic modifications of the module relating to the predetermined aspect; and (b) at run time: based on the stored set of modifications, selectively transferring program control from the module to a separate logical structure, executing modified logical operations with respect to the predetermined aspect, and subsequently returning program control to the module. The predetermined aspect may be, for example, a data type, algorithm type, or interface specification.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1998Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: Digits Corp.Inventor: Robert H. Patent number: 4920339Abstract: A switchable termination module for use with addressable devices on a communication bus has a terminator for each signal transmission path, a signal source, for example a switch for signalling whether termination is desired and a terminator control circuit for engaging and disengaging the terminators in response to the signal from the signal source. The control circuit has a transistor between the source of potential and the terminators to couple the terminators to the transmission paths when termination is desired. The switch which signals whether termination is desired may also be used to select the address for the device.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1989Date of Patent: April 24, 1990Assignee: Western Digital Corp.Inventors: Robert C.
