    Abstract: An AWG includes a waveform memory providing a digital waveform signal at a sample rate and an arbitrary factor interpolator (AFI) coupled to receive the digital waveform signal or a processed digital waveform signal. A complex mixer for carrier modulation is coupled to the AFI which outputs a complex band pass signal. A DAC is coupled to an output of the complex mixer for receiving the complex band pass signal to provide an analog output signal. A fixed frequency sample clock clocks the DAC to provide a fixed DAC sample rate. The DAC provides a data clock signal to a sample request controller that generates a sample request signal that is coupled to the waveform memory for requesting the digital waveform signal from the waveform memory. The interpolated digital signal is sampled at the fixed DAC sample rate independent of the sample rate of digital waveform signal.

    Abstract: The present invention is a lighting system for providing illumination to an aircraft evacuation slide. Light sources are safely utilized with an existing evacuation slide, a substantial improvement over prior assemblies that use a hard, plastic housing enclosing the light source. The invention increases light transmission, eliminates housing cracking, inadvertent puncturing, clouding, and decreases weight and cost of conventional slide systems. Each assembly comprises a mounting surface and a printed circuit board thereon, light sources, preferably light-emitting diodes (LEDs) mounted on the mounting surface, the light sources illuminating the aircraft evacuation slide, and a flexible containment covering, such as a heat shrink wrap that covers the assembly and protects the light sources. A protective shield can cover the mounting surface while allowing the LEDs to protrude through an aperture in the shield, protecting the LEDs from damaging forces while allowing light to illuminate the landing area.

    Abstract: An improved LED current regulation circuit for providing continuous electrical current to one or more Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) in an aircraft illumination system, in particular, an aircraft emergency evacuation system, through a varying voltage source. The circuit comprises a DC voltage source and a current regulation circuit electrically coupled to the one or more light sources, preferably, LEDS. The current regulation circuit comprises a transistor, a collector of which is electrically coupled to the one or more light sources, a zener diode electrically coupled to a base of the transistor, an emitter resistor having a first terminal electrically coupled to an emitter of the transistor and a second terminal electrically coupled to ground, the emitter resistor in parallel connection with the zener diode, wherein the current through each LED is maintained at a constant predetermined level based upon the summation of voltage drops across the zener diode, the transistor and the emitter resistor.

The restraint device can be utilized in a forward facing configuration or in an aft facing configuration. The forward facing configuration is utilized with small children and toddlers, while the aft facing configuration is utilized with infants and small children without sufficient neck development. When the device is not in use, the back panel is folded down towards the base member to form a relatively thin stowable assembly where it can be properly stored.

    Abstract: An improved oral/nasal mask-hood is provided for protection of individuals in the event of fire or smoke exposure. When attached to a supplemental supply of oxygen the mask-hood also provides hypoxia protection to individuals exposed to decompression as in some aircraft incidents. The mask-hood employs a five stage filtering process for converting toxic atmospheric air to breathable fresh air. The hood covers the wearer's head, neck and shoulder area. A neck seal is provided inside the hood for preventing gases from locating within the hood and irritating the wearer's eyes. A transparent member is located on the hood adjacent the wearer's line of sight to provide visibility during the emergency. The hood-mask device, as assembled, is small enough to retrofit into the space provided for the present decompression mask alone.

    Abstract: For automatically predicting machine failure a transducer sensor, such as piezoelectric crystal, is applied to a machine for sensing machine motion and structure-borne sound, including vibration friction, and shock waves. The structure-borne sound and motion sensed is converted to electrical signals which are filtered to leave only the friction and shock waves, which waves are processed, as by detecting the envelope and integrating beneath the envelope, resulting in a measure of friction and shock wave energy, i.e., stress wave energy. This measure is computed and processed for producing fault progression displays for periodic and aperiodic damage. This is accomplished in a personal computer, menu-driven environment.

    Abstract: The instant invention is a respiratory system for use on aircraft or similar compartments to temporarily prevent asphxiation and suffocation due to the presence of smoke, toxic gases and/or noxious gases resulting from aircraft fire or similar such. The respiratory system consists of a small dropout package containing a protective hood for deployment to enclose the head of the passenger to improve the passenger's vision in the smoke, a protective breathing mask for enclosing the mouth and nose of the passenger in order to provide breathable air and a dual air supply system. The respiratory system provides a connection to a fresh, breathable air supply from the aircraft's emergency air source and provides a chemical air purifier preferably including a wet scrubbing system for purifing cabin air of contaminants to supply additional breathable air. The respiratory system is disengageable from the aircraft's emergency air source for evacuation.
