Abstract: A glazing/window assembly with reduced ultraviolet (UV) radiation transmission may include at least a pair of glass panels or other elements confining an electrochromic medium therebetween. Ultraviolet radiation reducing material is incorporated for reducing ultraviolet radiation transmission through the assembly. The ultraviolet radiation reducing material comprises at least one of an ultraviolet absorber, an ultraviolet absorbing polymer, and an ultraviolet absorbing glass. At least one of a laminated glass panel, tempered glass panel and a polymeric layer is provided to prevent injury upon impact to the assembly. A color tint may be included in the assembly to provide a tint to transmitted light.
