Patent number: 5211637Abstract: A device for connecting a catheter to an injection tube, which is provided with an elastic tube into which an open end of the tubular catheter having electrodes disposed at the closed end thereof and also having conductive wires connected to said electrodes and taken out at the open end thereof and an open end of the injection tube having a mechanism for fluid injection at the other end thereof are inserted so that both open ends are connected end-to-end and the conductive wires are taken out through a gap between the elastic tube and the injection tube; and a sealing agent to cover respective surfaces of the catheter, injection tube, and elastic tube which surfaces are coated with an adhesive. The catheter, injection tube, and elastic tube, when coated with an adhesive of high viscosity, are compatible with the hard sealing agent lying thereabove.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1991Date of Patent: May 18, 1993Assignees: Kabushiki-Kaisha Tokai-Rika-Denki-Seisakusho, Dow Corning Kabushiki-KaishaInventors: Yasuhiro Goto, Shin-ichi Hirano, Kiyoshi Asai

Patent number: 4959166Abstract: A fluid composition for use in a viscous coupling is provided, which comprises (A) a base oil made of a polyorganosiloxane fluid having a viscosity of from about 500 to about 500,000 centistokes at 25.degree. C., and (B) at least one component selected from the group consisting of sulfur and sulfur compounds (b) to (g) listed below being added in a minor amount to said base oil;(b) a hydrocarbon sulfide;(c) a sulfurized oil or fat which is the reaction product of an oil or fat and sulfur;(d) a zinc dithiophosphate;(e) a dialkyldithiocarbamic acid metal salt;(f) elemental sulfur; and(g) a cyclic hydrocarbon sulfide. This fluid composition can be stably used in a viscous coupling for an extended period.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1988Date of Patent: September 25, 1990Assignees: Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd., Dow Corning Kabushiki Kaisha, Tochigifujisangyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiromu Minamitani, Norio Yano, Atsushi Ikezawa, Toshio Kanayama, Takashi Ushijima, Masao Teraoka, Osamu Ishikawa

Patent number: 4882162Abstract: An artificial skin or bandage is formed from an elastomeric layer which is surfaced by a fibrous wound contacting layer which is first formed into a fabric and subsequently degraded by heat hydrolysis or other degradative treatment into a form which could no longer be formed into a fabric but which forms an ideal bioabsorbable wound contact surface in which damage to the newly formed, fragile epidermus is minimized.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1988Date of Patent: November 21, 1989Assignee: Dow Corning Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshito Ikada, Shokyu Gen, Shigeo Ohi, Yosuke Urabe, Hiroyuki Kawashima

Patent number: 4847397Abstract: A method of preparing silyl group containing carboxylic acid type amphoteric surfactants in which a hydrocarbon substituted amine compound (1) is reacted with a silane compound (2) to produce a reaction product having at least one amino or imino group in the molecule. The reaction product of (1) and (2) is in turn reacted with a functionalized carboxylic acid to produce the desired amphoteric surfactant material.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1988Date of Patent: July 11, 1989Assignee: Dow Corning Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Fujio Sawaragi, Hiroo Taniguchi

Patent number: 4824903Abstract: A heat-resistant silicone rubber is obtained from a composition of a vinyl-containing polyorganosiloxane, a hydrogenpolyorganosiloxane, a platinum-containing catalyst, carbon black, and an acetylacetone salt of a metal wherein the metal can be copper, zinc, aluminum, iron, cerium, zirconium, or titanium. The silicone rubber can maintain its rubber properties at temperatures of 350.degree. C. for prolonged periods of time.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1986Date of Patent: April 25, 1989Assignee: Dow Corning Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koichi Aizawa, Shingo Sewa, Kiyoshi Mizushima, Minoru Emoto

Patent number: 4749740Abstract: Foam control compositions are prepared by reacting a mixture of components which include a polyorganosiloxane fluid bearing one or more hydroxyl and/or hydrocarbonoxy groups, a resinous siloxane or a silicone resin-producing silicon compound, a finely divided filler material and a catalyst to promote the reaction of the listed components. The compositions can optionally contain a polyorganosiloxane fluid which is substantially free of reactive groups and/or a polyorganosiloxane fluid bearing two or more hydroxyl and/or hydrocarbonoxy groups.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1986Date of Patent: June 7, 1988Assignee: Dow Corning Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koichi Aizawa, Shingo Sewa, Hideki Nakahara
