  • Patent number: 10908316
Abstract: A raster log digitization system and method are disclosed. The system and method receives a raster log in which the raster log has one or more values of one or more measurements of a well and each value of each measurement being recorded at a plurality of depths of the well. In the raster log, the value of at least one measurement wraps around the raster log. The system and method may generate using the received raster log a digital log from the raster log wherein the digital log resolves the values of at least one measurement that wrapped around the raster log.

  • Patent number: 10853893
Abstract: A system and method are provided for automatically correlating geologic tops. The system receives well logs from different well bores and each of the picks is added to a priority queue ordered by each pick's quality measure. User selected picks are assigned the highest level of quality measure. The system performs correlation by selecting a window of well log data about a pick selected from the top of the priority queue and then finding the best optimal match with a corresponding window in a neighboring wellbore.

  • Patent number: 10776967
Abstract: A system and method for well log vectorization are described that assist geologists or other technicians to rapidly and accurately vectorize well log curves that are visually evident in a raster well log image. The resulting digital well log curves are instrumental for qualitative interpretation and quantitative analysis of geologic information measured along well bores. The system and method simplifies and makes more efficient and accurate the process of vectorizing well log curves that are displayed in a digital raster log image.

  • Patent number: 10459098
Abstract: A system and method are provided for automatically correlating geologic tops. The system receives well logs from different well bores and one or more user seed picks identifying a well top to be correlated. Each of the seed picks is added to a priority queue ordered by each pick's confidence. User selected picks are assigned the highest level of confidence. The system performs correlation by selecting a window of well log data about a user's manual pick, selected from the top of the priority queue, and then finding the best optimal match with a corresponding window in a neighboring wellbore. That new pick is then estimated in the target well using a correlation function. A quality value and a confidence value may then be calculated for each pick using some correlation function, for example dynamic time warping, and added to the priority queue according to the confidence value.

  • Patent number: 9618639
Abstract: A system and method is provided for performing image-guided fault extraction from a fault-enhanced seismic image. The system divides three-dimensional fault-enhanced seismic images into a series of two-dimensional seismic image slices that can be selectively displayed and analyzed for fault surfaces. The system allows a user to select two or more fault surface points in a displayed image slice and identifies a fault path between the first fault surface point and the second fault surface that corresponds to a calculated at least cost path.
