  • Publication number: 20240100459
Abstract: A filter element (5) for separating solids from liquids or gases is described, wherein the filter element (5) has a first perforated plate (1) and a second perforated plate (2), wherein the two perforated plates (1, 2) are arranged parallel to one another and are covered by a filter covering (3). In this case, the two perforated plates (1, 2) are displaceable in the longitudinal direction relatively to one another from a non-displaced state into a displaced state, and the plates (1, 2) have spacers (4) on the mutually facing inner sides, which spacers are constructed in such a manner that the spacing (D?) between the plates (1, 2) is larger in the displaced state than in the non-displaced state (D), so that the filter covering (3) is tensioned in the displaced state of the plates (1, 2). In addition, at least one latching element (6) is provided, which fixes the plates (1, 2) to one another in the displaced state.

  • Patent number: 11446594
Abstract: In a device for separating solid particles from liquids and gases in flexible disposable plastic containers, a plurality of filter elements, consisting of flat, elongate support grids with filtrate drain channels and a covering, all-round closed filter medium, are connected to form a filter package and enclosed by a flexible plastic container. This disposable filter system is operated in a pressure vessel and can be compressed there by applying an external pressure in such a way that the residual volume of the suspension is considerably reduced. As a result of the stable design, backwashing of the filter elements is possible, which prevents the build-up of a dense layer of solid particles and can therefore lead to increased filtrate flow.

  • Patent number: 10486090
Abstract: A filter device comprising a filter candle on which filter fabrics and membrane tubes are fastened, consists of a central tube, around which a number of perforated support tubes are situated. The seal prevents deposits of filter cake on the radially projecting clamping mechanism which adversely affect the cake discharge, and the seal ensures, by way of its geometrical form and through the selection of the same type material, a permanent sealing action of the connection and fixing of the filter fabric even during operation with temperature and pressure fluctuations, by eliminating the action of difference material coefficients of expansion.

  • Publication number: 20140131291
Abstract: A device for separating solid particles from liquids includes a pressure vessel and one or more filter element registers having filter elements disposed in suspension on a horizontal filtrate discharge pipe. Each of the filter elements is formed from a substantially flat support mesh, a completely enclosed filter medium and spacers suspended therebetween. The support mesh is formed of rolled-flat mesh pipes that are smooth on an outside of the mesh pipes and, in an interior thereof, include longitudinal webs arranged to form channels that permit filtrate to flow to the horizontal discharge pipe.

  • Publication number: 20100120127
Abstract: The invention relates to method for the stepwise removal of bacteria from a fermentation broth. According to said method, the bacteria in the fermentation broth are mixed with a retention promoter mixture in a first process step and the pretreated bacteria are removed by precoat filtration in a second process step. The inventive method uses a retention promoter mixture from bentonite and polycations such as PEI or polyDADMAC and is suitable for treating large quantities of bacteria. The filter cake obtained with bentonite/PEI has a substantially improved quality.

  • Patent number: 7077968
Abstract: The method of continuously processing raw brine with a solids content to obtain substantially solids-free pure brine (E) for use in chlor-alkali electrolysis. In this method the raw brine (A) is separated, by means of a decanter (1), into a clear brine (B) with a lower solids content and an underflow (C) with a higher solids content, and the entire clear brine (B) and a metered fraction of the underflow (C) are supplied to a backwash pressure filter (5), from which the substantially solids-free pure brine (E) and a thickened slurry (F) are separately removed. The metered fraction and the clear brine (B) are controlled so that a solids concentration at an inlet to the pressure filter is 5 to 10 times that of a solids concentration in the clear brine (B), which stabilizes operations and increases filtration output.
