  • Publication number: 20100258589
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a spout having an evacuation structure for a flexible container. The evacuation structure ensures that the walls of the flexible container do not block the spout of the container during evacuation of fluid from inside the container. The evacuation structure additionally pivots away from the spout during the filling of the container so that the evacuation structure does not impede the fluid entering the container during filling.

  • Patent number: 7770360
Abstract: A flexible container and a method of manufacturing the same where a spout or fitment is attached to the outside of the flexible container. The flexible container includes a patch having at least a portion of the patch overlapping an opening of the flexible container. The fitment is attached to the outside of the sidewall of the container and the portion of the patch which overlaps the opening of the flexible container. The fitment includes a flange with a bottom surface having sealing beads. The sealing beads can be bonded to the outside of the sidewall of the container and/or the portion of the patch which overlaps the opening of the flexible container.

  • Patent number: 7721755
Abstract: A valve assembly to dispense fluid from fluid containers including a member that is rotatably slideable in a tube between open and closed positions. The valve assembly utilizes sealing beads to provide seals so that fluid cannot be dispensed from the assembly when the assembly is in the closed position. The valve assembly also includes a tamper evident indicator to show a user whether or not the valve assembly has been previously actuated. The tamper evident indicator may include a tab that is broken when the valve assembly is first actuated. The tamper evident indicator may also include a skirt that either detaches from a knob or fractures when the valve assembly is first actuated.

  • Patent number: 7607555
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a fitment assembly for a container. The fitment assembly includes a spout connected in fluid communication to the container, a cap sealing an end of the spout, the cap having a pierceable center, and a piercer for puncturing the cap at the pierceable center to permit fluid communication from the container through the spout and piercer. The present invention provides a seal between an annular skirt of the piercer and a circumferential wall of the cap so that when the piercer punctures the cap a seal is formed. The present invention also provides an additional means of securing the piercer to the cap utilizing the circumferential wall of the cap and the annular skirt of the piercer.

  • Publication number: 20090236809
Abstract: The present invention provides a dolly (10) having a deck (12) including a plurality of rotatable members (14) secured thereto to support the deck (12) relative to a support surface (16) and enable the dolly (10) to move on the support surface (16). Each rotatable member (14) has a skirt element (24) located adjacent thereto. The or each skirt element (24) is movable relative to the deck (12) between a first position in which each rotatable member (14) is exposed beyond the adjacent skirt element (24) to a first extent and a second position in which each rotatable member (14) is exposed beyond the adjacent skirt element (24) to a second extent. The second extent is less than the first extent. Movement of the or each skirt element (24) between the first and second positions selectively engages a brake (50) to inhibit movement of the dolly (10) relative to the support surface (16).

  • Patent number: 7543723
Abstract: An air-vented closure assembly for a fluid container has a valve body and a valve element. The valve body has first and second fluid conduits. The valve body has a mounting sleeve in fluid communication with the first and second fluid conduits. A valve member is positioned in the mounting sleeve for reciprocating movement from a closed position to an open position. The valve member has a wall having opposed ends, the valve member having a third fluid conduit therethrough. A first portion of the wall is removed to define an air inlet into the third fluid conduit and a second portion is removed to define an air outlet. When the valve member is in the closed position fluid flow through the first and second conduits is prevented, and when in the open position fluid can flow through the first conduit and air can flow through the air outlet.
