Abstract: The invention relates to a material layer of soft paper polymer fiber or polymer film intended to be used as a separate layer, or in at least one layer to be placed loosely on, or be bonded to one or more material webs for achieving a controlled diffusion capacity of a liquid deposited on at least the material layer, or for achieving a bulkier and thicker material web.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for producing a material web of synthetic textile material for conversion into table-cloths. Here, two material webs produced according to standard procedure are joined along their respective side edges to a material web folded to a V shape for obtaining a total width on the produced web that is greater than the maximum width of a web produced by standard procedure. The inventive apparatus includes two reels (1, 2) on which are would webs (3, 4) of standard manufacture, which may be rolled off the reels and into mutual proximity with the aid of a roll nip (6) disposed after the reels, there also being a folding plate (8) for folding a third web (5) into a V shape which may be joined to both webs (3, 4) along their respective juxtaposed side edges by its free side portions (12, 13) to form a material web (11) having a total width which is greater than the maximum width of a web produced by standard procedure.
Abstract: A laminate of creped tissue paper, which is wet-strength-treated and which has the required qualities for tablecloths, such as drape, heaviness, softness and tensile strength. The laminate is formed by applying an adhesive to a first tissue paper in patterns to form a first web. The first web is then laminated to another tissue paper web by means of a water-based adhesive compound containing a dispersion of the adhesive mixed with a large amount of filler. The filler makes the adhesive only penetrate to a limited depth into the respective surface layers of the webs that are directed towards each other.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for splicing at least two single or multiple layer materials of air permeable soft paper webs while retaining web tension during operation. The apparatus includes a first suction chamber for retaining an end portion of a new web in trailing engagement against a first web, which is to be spliced, a second suction chamber over which moves the first web, which is to be spliced, as well as the forward end portion of the new web for splicing, a regulatable vacuum system for the suction chambers, an embossing nip placed downstream of the second suction chamber for bonding together the webs kept together with the aid of controlled air passage through them, and a cutting means for cutting off the moving web.
