  • Patent number: 10952364
Abstract: A furrow opener on an agricultural ground working implement has an opener body supported on a tool supporting shank of the implement and a replaceable furrowing tip body on the opener body. A delivery passage extends through the opener body and the tip body to deposit granular material in a furrow formed in the ground by the furrow opener. The tip body has a vertical knife portion and laterally protruding wings. Each wing further includes a soil shield portion projecting upwardly from the inner edge of the respective wing alongside the corresponding side surface of the opener body so as to resist penetration of soil into the chamber through a seam between the inner edge of the wing and the corresponding side surface of the opener body.

  • Patent number: 10849265
Abstract: A manure spreader implement has a compartment for containing manure, a conveyor for displacing manure in the compartment towards a rear end of the implement, and a rotating beater assembly at the rear end of the implement for spreading the manure outwardly from the rear end of the implement. The implement further includes (i) support brackets for supporting the mounting fasteners of the beater teeth on the auger of the beater assembly in double shear, (ii) auxiliary paddles supported by removable fasteners on the auger of the beater assembly between the auger flighting above and the lower paddles of the auger below, and/or (iii) floor slats on the conveyor which have end portions of reduced internal dimension formed by crimps that allow relative sliding between the floor slats and the mounting bars on the chain of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 10538134
Abstract: A walking beam assembly mounts onto the main frame of an agricultural trailer in place of a single axle assembly. The walking beam assembly has a main axle beam serving as the only connection to the main frame. Two walking beams, with a pair of wheels on each, are supported at opposing ends of the main axle beam. Two hubs are pivotally supported on the main axle beam at respective hub locations spaced inward axially of the main axle beam relative to the ends of the main axle beam. A pair of brace members are coupled between each hub and the respective walking beam at diametrically opposing sides of the walking beam pivot. The hubs and the brace members are pivotal relative to the main axle beam about the same walking beam axis as the walking beams.

  • Patent number: 9313938
Abstract: An adapter bushing is supported on a furrowing opener of an agricultural implement. The adapter bushing includes a bushing body received by interference fit within a transverse opening in a shank body of the furrowing opener. A cooperating aperture is formed in the bushing body so as to be arranged for alignment with a corresponding pin receiving aperture of a replacement tip body of the furrowing opening such that a retainer pin is arranged to be received simultaneously within the cooperating aperture of the adapter bushing and the pin receiving aperture of the tip body.

  • Patent number: 7617783
Abstract: A paired row opener has a furrowing tip arranged to be selectively supported on a body of the opener. The furrowing tip includes a knife portion and a pair of wing portions extending rearwardly and outwardly therefrom. A central chamber between the wing portions communicates with a primary delivery passage of the opener body to receive the primary particulate material therefrom to be dispensed in a paired row from a pair of outlet openings of the chamber which are laterally spaced apart in a rear face of the tip body. A bottom wall spans a bottom side of the chamber between the wing portions to the rear face such that the outlet openings lie in an upright plane at a rearmost end of the tip body to be prevented from plugging even in wet conditions, while remaining selectively separable with the tip body from the opener body for replacement.

  • Patent number: 6457426
Abstract: A furrow opener for attachment to a cultivator shank has a delivery tube located in front of the shank and close to the shank to facilitate trash flow around the shank. The product delivered can fall directly behind the furrow making device without negotiating an upward curve. A second delivery tube can be mounted behind the shank, and an economical manufacture of the opener is provided.

  • Patent number: 6406368
Abstract: An apparatus for attachment to a rear end of a combine for spreading straw and chaff comprises a pair of side-by-side rotating pans with attached blades for spreading chaff, with a straw spreader attached to and above each pan to spread straw before same falls onto the pans. Each pan is enclosed at the front by a vertical wall with an opening to allow chaff to exit to the rear and side. A lip extends from the top of the wall toward the center of the pan to enhance the air blast and increase the distance chaff is blown. Rear deflectors allow the amount of chaff directed to the rear to be varied.
