  • Patent number: 4719859
Abstract: A training cartridge includes a metallic cartridge case with a case shoulder and dummy projectile having a gas exhaust opening at its front end. A propellant charge powder chamber of the cartridge case is closed in the forward direction by means of a cup-shaped closure element that is inserted in the cartridge case close to the case shoulder and that bursts or ruptures during firing under the action of the powder gases along predetermined intentional breaking zones. Toward the rear, the powder chamber is sealed by means of a bottom piece inserted in the cartridge case. By placing the intentional opening zones into the interior of the cartridge, danger of injury by the ejected cartridge case is reduced to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 4697524
Abstract: An after-firing safety mechanism of a training ammunition that is fired through the central barrel of a full-caliber dummy projectile is described. The training ammunition includes a primer igniting an active charge upon impingement of the training ammunition on the target, as well as a locking pin ejectable perpendicularly to the axis of the training ammunition, this pin fixing the primer in place at least as long as the training ammunition is within the barrel of the dummy projectile. The locking pin is inserted in this arrangement in a cavity, to be ejectable by gas pressure. The cavity is in communication with a pyrotechnical gas generator; the latter being connected to an ignition system operating with delay. This ignition system is initiated upon firing of the training ammunition from the barrel of the dummy projectile.

  • Patent number: 4651254
Abstract: A secondary coil is provided for use in inductive igniters for the igniting of propellant charge powder. In these igniters, two coil systems cooperate with each other in accordance with the transformer system, wherein the secondary coil is to be as small as possible and is to form a compact unit with the igniter. This is accomplished by arranging the windings of the secondary coil in the form of flat sandwich coils on a support material in an insulated fashion so that upon folding of the support material, the individual flat coils are placed in mutual opposition so that they form a cylinder coil.

  • Patent number: 4646640
Abstract: For the chronologically staggered initiation of a plurality of electronic explosive delay detonators connected together with a blasting detonating machine, a signal current produced in each explosive detonator by signals sent by the blasting detonating machine, for example an impulse sequence, is integrated up in order to establish the delay time and, for carrying out of the delay, is integrated anew or integrated down to equality of the integrals or of the starting values. According to the invention, the integrating up begins in all explosive detonators simultaneously, with the end of the integrating up being controlled by signals from the blasting detonating machine.
