  • Patent number: 9669414
Abstract: A magnetic filtration device (105) configured to entrap magnetically susceptible material and non-magnetically susceptible material. An array of magnetic columns (703, 704) of alternating north and south polarity are positioned within a plurality of chambers (308, 309) that direct the fluid flow in an extended flowpath through a magnetic field circuit created by the columns of magnets (703, 704). A separator flange (305) acts to entrap nonferrous particles for subsequent removal and isolation from a fluid network in which the device (105) maybe installed.

  • Patent number: 8834721
Abstract: A magnetic filtration apparatus to separate ferrous contaminant material from a working fluid. The separation apparatus has a housing that is divided into a plurality of filtration chambers, each chamber having an elongate magnetic core to generate a magnetic field to entrap the contaminant material as it flows through the filter body. A fluid communication passageway is provided between the first and second chambers and is positioned such that the fluid exposure to the magnetic fields is maximized.

  • Patent number: 7604748
Abstract: A magnetic filter device capable of separating contaminant material from a working fluid. The device includes an inlet to allow fluid to flow into the device and an outlet to allow fluid to flow out of the device. The filter further includes an elongate magnetic core comprising at least four columns of magnets. At least two magnetic columns include a north polarity extending over the length of the columns and at least two columns have a south polarity extending substantially the length of the columns. The four columns are positioned lengthways around a central longitudinal axis of the core in alternating north and south polarity thereby generating a magnetic field of alternating high and low field intensity in the region around the magnetic core exterior.

  • Patent number: 6557429
Abstract: A method of testing whether a magnetic lifting device may safely lift a particular load where the magnetic lifting device is placed adjacent to the load, some or all of the magnetic elements of the magnetic lifting device are spaced such that the lifting ability of the magnetic lifting device is reduced by a predetermined amount. An attempt is then made to lift the load by a small safe distance. If this attempt is successful, the user can be sure use of the magnetic lifting device, when the lifting ability is restored, is safe. Conveniently, the spacing is achieved by the introduction of a substantially planar member between the magnetic lifting device and the load. The planar member has a similar footprint to that of the magnetic lifting device. The planar member may be made of stainless steel.
