Abstract: A method for creating a frame of reference of a leg of a subject for subsequent 3-D kinematic analysis of the leg with non-invasive trackable references secured to the femur and the tibia of the leg. The method comprises the steps of: i) obtaining tibial and femoral axes with respect to the trackable references by tracking points and motions of the leg; ii) registering a known posture of the subject with respect to the trackable references; iii) obtaining a desired posture of the subject with respect to the trackable references as a function of the known posture by tracking a predetermined motion of the leg; and iv) setting a frame of reference to said tibial and femoral axes of the leg in the desired posture of the subject with respect to the trackable references.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for amplifying a signal modulated in amplitude using amplifiers having a given dynamic range corresponding to a limited conduction angle, comprising separating the signal in a first signal and in a second signal depending on the dynamic range of the amplifiers, wherein each of the first signal and the second signal has a corresponding phase assigned based on an amplitude of the signal, amplifying each of the first signal and the second signal using the amplifiers and combining the amplified signals.
Abstract: A synchronous clocking method and apparatus is disclosed for clocking a plurality of processing units. Each of the plurality of processing units is connected to at least another one using an interblock synchronization signal. Upon receipt of the interblock synchronization signal, data is provided between at least two processing units.
Abstract: A system and method for testing the data propagation time in an integrated circuit at relatively low speed is described herein. The method uses at least two parallel circuits comprising a data circuit and a clock circuit, wherein these parallel circuits are provided with at least one inverter for sensing the feeding current of each circuit so as to obtain current pulses that are transformed into binary signals forwarded to a tester that measures the delay time between these signals.
Abstract: A system for Vddq integrated circuit (IC) testing is described herein. The systems teaches the positioning of a resistive element between a voltage source and the power supply terminal of the IC under test and the approximation of the voltage value at the power supply terminal when the IC is generally in a steady state. Depending on the approximated voltage value, the IC under test may be determined faulty or not.
Abstract: A high-speed dental drill is comprised of a hand piece having a drill head at an end thereof. A turbine assembly is supported in a turbine chamber inside the drill head. The turbine assembly has a chuck which is rotatably secured between bearings. An impeller is secured about the chuck and aligned with an air inlet port in a sidewall of the turbine chamber. An exhaust port is provided in the sidewall to exhaust air. An air conduit is provided in the handpiece to direct air pressure to the air inlet port to drive the turbine and rotate the chuck. The chuck has a work bit engaging free end which is exteriorly accessible. An insert is secured to the drill head and provides access to the turbine chamber. The insert has a smooth conical tapered circumferential external sidewall for frictional engagement by a mating conical bore of a key for the removal and connection of the insert. The exhaust port has a non-circular cross-section in which the aspect ratio of the exhaust port is not equal to one.
