Abstract: A device for applying an article to a moving object includes an applicator member having a base element and an arm element. The arm element is telescopically coupled to the base element such that the arm element is movable between a retracted state and an extended state. A biasing member biases the arm element towards its extended state and an actuator shaft is pivotably connected to the base element. The actuator shaft is eccentrically arranged and rotatable about a first rotation axis RA1, and a support member is pivotable about a second rotation axis RA2 and slidingly supports a mid-section of the arm element. An applicator head is cyclically movable between a retrieval position and an application position in response to rotation of the eccentrically arranged actuator shaft about the first rotation axis RA1.

Abstract: A filling machine for filling flexible pouch type packages that includes a transport unit arranged for intermittent, edgewise advancement of the packages from an upstream station to a downstream station. The transport unit is movable in a reciprocating manner between a first end position and a second end position, and includes a first gripping member arranged to retrieve packages from the upstream station and delivered to the filling station, a second gripping member arranged to retrieve packages from the filling station and delivered to the downstream station and a suction cup member arranged for opening the filling channel of the packages retrieved by the first gripping member. Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for gas filling and sealing of a duct intended to be filled with gas and positioned in a container of a collapsible type. The duct is defined by two opposite side walls which are joined along a connecting portion and comprises an inlet arranged in one of the side walls. A part of the container that comprises the inlet is clamped between an abutment and a gas module which is axially movable towards the abutment. Clamping occurs in such a manner that one off the two side walls included in the duct is allowed, in response to a gas flow supplied from the gas module and entering the duct through said inlet, to bulge to form a free passage into the duct for filling the same with gas. After completion of the gas filling, the duct is sealed. The invention also relates to a container blank having a duct which is specially developed for the method and the device.

The device is arranged to receive the containers oriented in a first direction and the transport unit is arranged to transport the containers to at least one of the stations by moving the containers in a second direction along a curved path, the second direction being perpendicular to the first direction. The device has a holding device provided for at least one station and located in a stationary position adjacent to the station and a transfer device, which is provided for the at least one station and carried by the transport unit and which is cyclically movable along an endless path between a pick-up position and a delivery position located adjacent to the station. The transfer device is arranged to pick up at least one container in the pick-up position and transfer the at least one container, in the delivery position, to the holding device.

Abstract: A method for gas filling a handle portion of a container of a collapsible type. The handle portion being defined by two opposite side walls of the container and communicating, via a duct defined by the side walls, with an opening formed in one of the side walls. The method including the steps of supplying, at a gas filling station, a gas to the handle portion via the opening and the duct, blocking the duct by squeezing action to retain the gas supplied to the handle portion, transporting the container to a sealing station while maintaining the squeezing action and, at the sealing station, sealing the duct while maintaining the squeezing action, so as to permanently enclose the gas in the handle portion. The disclosure further concerns a container of a collapsible type.
