  • Patent number: 11752615
Abstract: A device is provided for coupling and decoupling a blade and a handle, wherein the device includes a housing that defines an interior chamber and an exterior slot adjacent the interior chamber. The exterior slot is dimensioned to pass the blade and is configured to receive a portion of the handle. The housing defines a groove in the interior chamber configured to retain the blade in a ready configuration for coupling the blade to the handle. The device includes a pivot member secured within the interior chamber of the housing. The pivot member is pivotable between an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration. The unlocked configuration of the pivot member is configured to allow the blade in the ready configuration to be coupled to the handle. The locked configuration of the pivot member is configured to lock the blade within the interior chamber.

Abstract: A sagittal surgical saw blade consisting of a planar body having side edges, a proximal end for attachment to an oscillatory power device and a distal end defining a cutting head carrying distally extending spaced apart teeth. The teeth are configured to provide a kerf wider than the thickness of the cutting head. A large chip collection void is formed in the cutting head and the sides of the body define left and right chip collection and evacuation areas.

  • Patent number: 9710866
Abstract: An ordering system that fills a prescription order is described. The ordering system comprises a Graphical User Interface, a transactional component, a production facility, a detailed labeling component, and a distribution point. The GUI is configured to receive at least one prescription order that is associated with a particular patient wherein the at least one prescription order comprises at least two different medications. The transactional component charges for processing the prescription order. The production facility receives the prescription order and fills a plurality of multiple prescription containers. Each of the multiple prescription containers is associated with a prescribed time interval determined by the prescription order, and each multiple prescription container comprises the different medications that are to be consumed at the prescribed time interval.

  • Publication number: 20160228130
Abstract: A surgical drill bit is formed by a cylindrical body that comprises a distal fluted drill section, a fluted midsection and a proximal drive transmission shank. The distal end of the drill section forms the drill point of the surgical bit and comprises at least two opposed cutting edges that extend from the tip of the drill point to the leading edge of a land defined by the outer surface of a respective drill point flute. The outside diameter of the midsection is less than the outside diameter of the drill section. In cross section the flute consists of a land radially extending from an enlarged central web. A small conical tip is concentrically located on the drill point.

  • Publication number: 20150297872
Abstract: A medical apparatus includes a catheter having an inflatable balloon at its distal end. The balloon defines at least two spaced larger diameter areas defining a valley therebetween and is adapted to be inserted in a non-inflated condition into a cavity of the human body such as the rectum, and when inflated, is adapted to cradle an organ such as the prostate located in a different body cavity. The balloon is symmetric about an axis defined by the catheter so that positioning issues are limited to axial positioning rather than rotational positioning. Because of the valley in the balloon, when the balloon is inflated, only a limited portion of the rectum is necessarily pushed into contact with the prostate, and thus, the radiation toxicity to the rectum is limited. Methods utilizing the medical apparatus are disclosed.
