Abstract: A device for the portioning of sausagelike food products, characterized by a substantially axially symmetric caplike body made of a material having flexural elasticity, and comprising a section which is formed by an approximately L-shaped slot extending from an edge of the body in the direction of its bottom and then substantially parallel to the edge and the bottom of the body, and which when not loaded extends tangentially to the body and is provided with a cutting nose directed toward the interior of the body and lying approximately in the plane of the edge of the body.

Abstract: Highly porous ceramic material for adsorption and absorption purposes, particularly for animal litter, characterized by a porosity of 50 to 300%, preferably 200 to 250%; a water absorption capacity of 50 to 200%, preferably 100 to 150%, a pH-value in the range 5 to 9, preferably 7 to 8; a bulk density of 400 to 700 g/1; an internal surface (BET-N.sub.2) between 20 and 200 m.sup.2 /g, preferably between 80 and 150 m.sup.2 /g; which can be produced by firing a foamed mixture of clay or clays, optionally aggregate or aggregates, anionic or cationic surfactant or surfactants and deflocculant or deflocculants, process for the production thereof and use thereof.

Abstract: Lightweight ceramic material for building purposes, particularly for bricks, plates and panels, as well as for using as an aggregate/filler material for lightweight building materials, characterized by a porosity of 50 to 300%, preferably 100 to 250%; a pH-value between 5 and 9, particularly 7 to 8; a bulk density of 300 to 700 g/l; which can be produced by firing a foamed mixture of clay or clays, optionally aggregate or aggregates, anionic or cationic surfactant or surfactants, deflocculant or deflocculants, and optionally a hydraulic binder, such as cement, at temperatures above 600.degree. C., process for the production thereof and the use thereof.

Abstract: A composite foil package for a pourable material such as cat litter having an outer hull and inner lining sealed to provide an interior space to retain the pourable material. The hull and lining are provided with perforations to permit, when the perforations are parted, the folding out of the outer hull and inner lining to expose the pourable material.

Abstract: Bottom-fold bags, made of endless tubular material, which can be made of endless flat material and having a substantially rectangular standing-surface, together with a method and apparatus for producing and filling such bags are disclosed. Two lateral, substantially triangular bottom-flaps, in the vicinity of which the tubular material is in three layers, are produced. The tubular material is folded-in from the sides of the bag being formed and a bottom longitudinal seam is formed by pressing the tubular material together and connecting together the layers of tubular material thus caused to bear upon one another. At least the two layers of the bottom-flaps facing away from the bottom-surface of the bag are united longitudinally. At least one connecting seam, arranged near the lateral edge of the bag, and at least one connecting seam, arranged near the apex of each triangular bottom-flap are provided, substantially at right angles to the bottom longitudinal seam.

Abstract: An animal litter consisting of or containing a porous calcium silicate granulate or powder prepared by reacting silicon dioxide or materials containing the same with calcium oxide or materials containing the same in a CaO to SiO.sub.2 molar ratio of 0.8:1 to 1.1:1, with homogenization thereof during the reaction by dispersing the solid starting materials in water with the addition of an anion-active surfactant previously converted in water to a microporous stable foam.
