Patent number: 11921170Abstract: A method for protecting a low-voltage distribution network. The low-voltage distribution network includes a low-voltage side of a three-phase distribution transformer that is configured to supply electrical power to at least one single-phase load through a respective distribution line of a plurality of three-phase distribution lines distribution lines. The method includes measuring variations of a periodic neutral-to-ground voltage between a neutral terminal of the three-phase distribution transformer and a local ground node by sampling the variations at a sampling frequency, detecting a fault in the low-voltage power distribution network based on the variations of the periodic neutral-to-ground voltage, and disconnecting the low-voltage side from the low-voltage power distribution network responsive to the fault being detected.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignees: ELECTRONIC SAZAN FAN ARIA COMPANYInventors: Mahdi Davarpanah, Ahmadreza Darabi, Pooria Allah Karami, Hamed Morsali

Publication number: 20230288498Abstract: A method for inter-turn fault detection in a current transformer (CT). The method includes obtaining a first inter-turn fault index of the CT, obtaining a second inter-turn fault index of the CT, and detecting an inter-turn fault in the CT based on the first inter-turn fault index and the second inter-turn fault index. Obtaining the first inter-turn fault index includes coupling an AC power supply to a secondary winding of the CT, measuring an electric current passing through the AC power supply, obtaining a hysteresis curve of the CT from the electric current, and calculating the first inter-turn fault index according to the hysteresis curve. Obtaining the second inter-turn fault index includes injecting an AC current to a primary winding of the CT, measuring an open-circuit voltage waveform of the secondary winding, and calculating the second inter-turn fault index according to the open-circuit voltage waveform.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2023Publication date: September 14, 2023Applicants: Electronic Sazan Fan Aria CompanyInventors: Mahdi Davarpanah, Mohammad Rasoul Noori, Abbas Torkamani, Hossein Dadashi Ilkhechi

Publication number: 20230236224Abstract: A method for measuring a dissipation factor of a voltage divider of a capacitor voltage transformer (CVT). The CVT includes a capacitor voltage divider (CVD), an intermediate voltage transformer (IVT), and a compensating reactor (CR). The CR is connected between the CVD and the IVT. The method includes measuring a grounded specimen test (GST) mode current that passes through a first capacitor of the CVD by coupling the current sensor in series with the first capacitor, measuring an ungrounded specimen test (UST) mode current that passes through a second capacitor of the CVD by coupling the current sensor in series with the second capacitor, and obtaining a dissipation factor of the CVD based on the GST mode current and the UST mode current.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2023Publication date: July 27, 2023Applicants: Electronic Sazan Fan Aria CompanyInventors: Mahdi Davarpanah, Pooria Allah Karami, Abbas Torkamani, Vahid Hajihasani, Hossein Dadashi Ilkhechi

Publication number: 20220413026Abstract: A method for impedance measurement of coupled AC transmission lines. The method includes measuring a zero-sequence impedance of a three-phase transmission line that are configured to transmit electric power from a first substation of a power system to a second substation of the power system. Measuring the zero-sequence impedance includes disconnecting the three-phase transmission line from the power system, connecting a receiving end of the first three-phase transmission line to a local ground, connecting each phase of the three-phase transmission line at a sending end of the three-phase transmission line to a terminal node, measuring a zero-sequence current of the first three-phase transmission line, measuring a zero-sequence voltage of the three-phase transmission line, and calculating the zero-sequence impedance based on the zero-sequence current and the zero-sequence voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2022Publication date: December 29, 2022Applicants: Electronic Sazan Fan Aria CompanyInventors: Mahdi Davarpanah, Hamed Morsali
