  • Patent number: 8661397
Abstract: A system and method for remotely performing boundary scans on a circuit board, device and/or system across a network. A first computing component, connected to the network, includes a computer readable media including computer executable instructions. The instructions cause the computing component to maintain or access a library of test scan procedures for a plurality of subject circuit boards. At least one of the test scan procedure is downloaded to a second computing component proximate the circuit board, device and/or system. The second computing component and the test scan procedure are monitored and controlled remotely via the network.

  • Publication number: 20130335580
Abstract: Methods and systems for use in calibrating imaging data, are provided that include using a calibration array to generate a test pattern. The calibration array can emit a test pattern having geometric, temporal, and electromagnetic characteristics. The collected data can be compared with the geometric, temporal and electromagnetic characteristics to determine an error factor that can then be used in analyzing the collected data.

  • Publication number: 20130125204
Abstract: A method and system for authenticating a device, board, assembly or system includes obtaining or processing test/scan information provided via extraction of ECID or other unique identifying information regarding a board. A re-authentication process is performed to verify that the board contains only legitimate ECID or other uniquely identified devices, via comparison of re-extracted codes of devices at known positions against a reference record, the reference record being established by an initial authentication process that utilizes information regarding authentic/unique ECID or other uniquely identified codes of devices delivered to populate the board to derive the reference record for the device.

  • Patent number: 6481627
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating delivery of fuel to a customer site with a delivery truck. A hand-held device captures an identifier specific to the given customer. A zero flow of fuel being transferred from the delivery truck to a customer storage tank is sensed, and the fuel delivery is tagged for billing to the customer based upon when the zero flow is sensed in relation to when the identifier is captured. The hand-held device is used to log the identifier and an identification time at which the identifier is captured. A computer is provided on-board the delivery truck, and logs zero flow indications and the respective zero flow times. The system determines which ones of the zero flow times are after the identification time but before a next occurring identification time at which the hand-held device captures a next identifier.

  • Publication number: 20020048403
Abstract: A mark recognition system and method are provided for identification of one or more marks on an object. The mark(s) preferably is (are) indicative of the source of the object. The source can be one or any combination of the processor, distributor, manufacturer, and the like. The mark itself can be a touch mark, hallmark, or the like. The mark recognition system comprises an input module, a processor, and an output module. The input module is adapted to receive query image information about at least one mark on an object. The processor is configured to compare the query image information to archived image information about known marks, to determine which one or more items of the archived image information correspond to the query image information. The output module is configured to communicate, to a user, result information indicating which one or more items of the archived image information correspond to the query image information.

  • Patent number: 5375008
Abstract: Systems are provided for distinguishing between friendly ground targets and those of a foe and for receiving passive communications from friendly ground targets by providing friendly ground targets with reflector means adapted to modulate or otherwise change the character of laser light striking the reflector surface. The target is illuminated with a laser beam and the reflected laser energy is examined to determine whether it differs in character from that normally reflected from a target. Modulation of the laser beam can be accomplished by changing the reflectivity of the reflector means according to a selected sequence or pattern.

  • Patent number: 5189727
Abstract: An initial learning phase creates histograms for each of the languages to be recognized. A first pass enters a number of samples of speech, and at each predetermined instant of time, each sample of speech is Fast Fourier Transformed (FFT) to create a spectrum showing frequency content of the speech at that instant of time (a spectral vector). The frequency content is compared with frequency contents which have been previously stored. If the current spectral vector is close enough to a previously stored spectral vector, a weighted average between the two is formed, and a weight indicating frequency of occurrence is incremented. If the current value is not similar to one which has been previously stored, it is stored with an initial weight of "1". The most common frequency spectra are determined for all of the languages grouped together to form a composite basis set. A second pass then puts a sample of sounds through the Fast Fourier Transform to again obtain frequency spectrums.

  • Patent number: 5185697
Abstract: A crisis management system having a crisis command center and multiple remote units. Information gathered by the remote units, or received at crisis command center, is input to a central computer designed to organize the information in various topic files. The information is tagged automatically with a time of entry and then organized chronologically in a selected file. The information is then utilized to update automatically any files related to the selected file. Next, the information is transmitted from the crisis command center to the remote units and input to the appropriate file in each remote computer. The transmitted information is used to update all related files located at the remote unit, thereby enabling all remote units to maintain up-to-date information pertaining to the crisis.

  • Patent number: 4884506
Abstract: Explosive charges are detonated by remote control in environments having high levels of extraneous electric and electromagnetic energy by providing a separate control unit for each explosive charge. The control unit accepts coded commands radio transmitted from a command unit and, if those commands meet with pre-set criteria, the control unit detonates the charge. Each control unit is connected to its respective explosive charge by electrical or optical conductors providing sufficient separation as to allow the control unit to survive detonation of the charge without damage.

  • Patent number: 4718187
Abstract: A rifle or similar weapon having a mechanical trigger is provided with a mechanism to discharge it by remote command without interfering with the normal trigger action of the weapon. The weapon operator remains in control of his weapon and is able to discharge it at will. A push-type solenoid is arranged to move the trigger in response to an electrical fire command signal from a source external to the weapon and firing circuit is provided to accept the command signal and activate the solenoid. The firing circuit is arranged to prevent discharge of the weapon by external signal except when it is in an aimed, fire-ready position as signaled by the weapon operator.
