Abstract: Turned edge fabric appliqués are produced using a first template whose perimeter corresponds to a desired shape of a finished appliqué of certain size, and a second template having a corresponding opening so that the perimeter of the first template fits in the opening with a determined gap between the templates. The perimeter of the second template corresponds to an appliqué of the desired shape but a size larger than said certain size, and the second template fits in a corresponding opening in a third template to obtain the appliqué of larger size. A fabric piece is placed by the first template into the opening in the second template, and an exposed edge of the piece projects through the gap above the first template to define a seam allowance which is ironed atop the first template. The template is then withdrawn from the opening and from the ironed seam allowance.
