Abstract: The invention relates to a device for feeding sheets one by one from a stack of sheets to a transportation device. The sheet-feeding device comprises a number of parallel, separately driven shafts which are equidistantly spaced from one another and are enclosed in a first and a second low-pressure chamber and carry a plurality of feeding wheels which protrude through associated openings in the feeding table, which forms the top side of the respective low pressure chambers. A sheet support is arranged above one of the shafts in the first low-pressure chamber, and at least one sensor is arranged at the second low-pressure chamber. The sensor detects the front edge of the fed sheet and sends signals to a control unit for correcting, if necessary, the position of the sheet by controlling the motors associated with the shafts. The invention also relates to a method for feeding sheets.

Abstract: Slitting unit forming part of a machine for production of carton blanks, in particular blanks made of cardboard or corrugated cardboard. The unit (2) comprises working wheels (12, 24, 25, 28) which are opposite in pairs, one wheel in at least one pair (24) being made with at least one slitting knife (26) extending over a part of the periphery of the wheel while the periphery of the other wheel in said pair is made with a slot for receiving the knife. The unit also comprises a vacuum belt (6) running adjacently to each slitting-wheel pair (24; 25) for securing and feeding the blanks (10). The wheels (24; 25) in each slitting-wheel pair are mounted in an upper and, respectively, a lower stand unit (3, 4) at least a portion of that part of one stand unit (4) which faces towards the other (3) being made in the form of a vacuum box.

Abstract: Apparatus for folding sheet blanks (1), e.g. for boxes and trays from carton or corrugated cardboard. It includes press means (6, 7) attached to at least one endless conveying means (10). The press means are intended to coact with selected parts (2, 3) of the blanks for folding them up or down from the plane of the blank during their passage through the apparatus. The blanks are arranged to be conveyed through the apparatus at the same speed as that at which the conveying means is driven. The latter is guided in a helical path by an elongate, rigid structure (8, 9) forming continuous support for the conveying means. During the entire folding operation the operative ones of the press means attached to the conveying means press against the same area on the part of the blank with which they coact.
