  • Patent number: 9121324
Abstract: A device for providing a liquid reducing agent includes a tank having an interior space, a vessel at least partly disposed in the inner space of the tank, the vessel being at least partly surrounded by a particle screen through which a liquid can flow, and a delivery unit located in the vessel and configured for delivering reducing agent from the tank, through the particle screen and then out to a take-off or delivery point for reducing agent.

  • Patent number: 8484957
Abstract: A method for selectively heating a reducing agent line of an SCR device during operation of an exhaust gas purification system of an internal combustion engine and a device for exhaust gas purification, include a supply tank for a reducing agent for SCR applications, a device for introducing the reducing agent into an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine and at least one reducing agent line for fluidically connecting the supply tank to the device.

  • Patent number: 7258843
Abstract: An assembly includes a honeycomb body secured by an inner casing tube in a housing, in particular a housing of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine. The inner casing tube has an overall length which is bounded axially by two edges and is substantially smaller than the axial length of the honeycomb body. The inner casing tube is also disposed in an approximately axially central position around the honeycomb body and is connected, in particular brazed, thereto in at least one axial connection region. The inner casing tube has a region within the axial connection region in which it is connected to the honeycomb body on the inside or attached directly adjacent the latter on the outside and is connected to the housing. Regions of the inner casing tube which are not connected to the housing but are connected to the honeycomb body toward the inside are constructed as radially elastic spring elements.

  • Patent number: 6821491
Abstract: A muffler and an associated assembly for cleaning exhaust gas, especially from small engines, include a metal catalyst carrier body and a retaining element which is preferably built into a muffler casing. The catalyst carrier body has a plurality of inner flow paths and is mounted in an exhaust pipe. The retaining element has an opening which surrounds at least a part of a jacket surface of the catalyst carrier body and is directly secured thereto, so that the catalyst carrier body remains dimensionally stable and can be transported. The retaining element can be joined to the exhaust pipe casing which forms an inflow chamber and an outflow chamber in such a way that the retaining element seals and separates the two chambers from each other. Due to the use of the retaining element, no jacket tube is required for the catalyst carrier body which enables the carrier body to be built into a muffler casing both directly and easily. A method for producing the assembly is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6145195
Abstract: A honeycomb body has a plurality of at least partially structured sheet metal layers forming a plurality of passages through which a fluid can pass. The sheet metal is plastically deformed in a region of a mandrel passage whose cross-section is substantially determined by a mandrel of a winding device with which the honeycomb is formed. The free flow cross-section of the mandrel passage is closed at least in a portion of the passage along the flow direction by deforming the sheet metal with a deformation punch. The deformation punch has an end portion with a sharp-edged rim.

  • Patent number: 5866230
Abstract: An extruded honeycomb body of a ceramic or metallic material includes a plurality of conduits being separated from each other by partitions and extending approximately parallel to each other. The partitions are disposed and shaped in at least an outer region in such a way that as seen in a cross section through the honeycomb body they do not form structures which are rigid in the radial direction and/or rigid support structures extending in the circumferential direction. Separating walls extending spirally or involute particularly increase the elasticity of a honeycomb body. Such shapes are particularly suited for electrically conductive extruded honeycomb bodies which can be used, for example, in connection with electrically heatable catalytic converters of motor vehicles.
